So tonight I ordered pizza's to be delivered (don't think I've ever done that before!).
It cost $34.50 and I gave the young bloke $40 and he said "you don't want the change?"..... I was like yeah give me the change....then I realised he wanted a tip. I'm not good at tips! He gave me my change $5 note and 50c. Then I realised what he was doing but didn't want to give him $5 so gave him the measly 50c (I had no other change). But now I feel like a big tight a**! But still didn't really want to give him my $5!
What should I have done?!!

I would have tipped him the $5.50. Delivery guys are paid crap.

Yeah I always round up. But it's not an expectation in Australia I don't think...

I agree with harvs, I don't think it's an expectation. They are paid crap though, dh used to be one for a while when he was between jobs.

When we lived in the city we only had pizza occasionally, so we tipped them pretty well. We probably would've let him keep the change. But I don't judge you for not giving it

We order online and pay via PayPal so no money to exchange when they deliver. I don't tip

I think tipping is cultural. In the US for example, it would be expected. here, not as much I don't think. I round up when i get change.
But when i used to order pizza, i'd often use the online system because i had no cash. Without cash it was hard to tip !

I've never tipped but I mostly order and pay online with PayPal so that makes it hard to tip - I never have cash.

I have never tipped for pizza when we get it delivered. Don't believe I ever will too.

We mostly pay online so dont tip. Though last time when i did pay cash i tipped the guy $10 as the weather was bloody shocking out and he was drenched.
