@Jamel wow congrats. You give me hope. I am going to do my first DE cycle in July/August. I got my treatment plan on Friday. I am both so excited and too terrified to book flights and accommodation. Feels surreal. Very happy for you!

Thanks Chmeille. I have nothing but great things to say about CFC. They made everything super easy!
We actually thought we were out and cried for almost 3 days straight. Yes, I got a late implanter... 1st +HPT on day 15!! Same day beta was 37!
We stayed with a lovely couple (Airbnb) only 8-10min walk to the clinic and 5 mins to the train station. The lovely host even picked us up after the transfer! Pm me if you'd like her details.
I wish you all the success in the world xx

@Canuck1 - OMG I can't believe your little Canuckette will be here so soon. I have been here along your journey since that first trip to CT. Enjoy the last time you will ever be alone ! and even more enjoy the day of her birth. Some of my strongest memories of the day are getting ready to go to theatre - terrifyingly exciting and very surreal.

Don't wait too long to give us an update !

Hi Everyone. DH and I travelled to CT in August 2015 and were lucky enough to be successful first time around conceiving our boy/girl twins born in April 2016.
We are looking to head back in Sept for a frozen transfer for a sibling.
I had a couple of questions for those that have returned/travelled with small children
    1) Did you hire car seats over there or take your own? We've had less than satisfactory experiences in QLD hiring car seats in the last year so I'm wondering if South African car seat safety would be even worse?
    2) Do i take the full pram or just buy a couple of cheapy strollers to take?
    3) Accommodation recommendations for apartments so the kids could be in a seperate room

This time around I'm keen for a single transfer. DH and I think we want 4 kids in total but not with 2 sets of twins!! We have 8 frozen embryos remaining. Our embryos are stored in straws of 2 and 3's and we are not keen on thawing and refreezing as we've read that not all embryos survive this process.
Therefore we are thinking of starting with the lower graded embryos. If they don't work then we may consider transferring 2 again.
I'm wondering if we are crazy talking the whole family on an expensive holiday for a lower grade transfer?!?

There's so much to think about and consider!!

Hmm yes sooo much wazbub. We also got lucky our first try (1et) 1 Bub born in may16. We went for number two in Jan and amazing did well again (now 20 weeks) again transferred 1 but we got ours enbies from round 1 frozen in 1 per straw, so went for top one this round.
We hired a car seat (Bidvest) wasn't awesome but was rear facing and did the job.
We took a strolller but easier if only one, we have super compact one and checked in and loved having. We also took an ergobaby which helped, but twos a different ball game!
We stayed at the vineyard so no seperate room, do can't help you there.
It wasn't too bad travelling with Bub but she was small enough at time to fly in bassinet (and used cozi go cover)
I'm not sure I've helped much, but go for it and good luck

Hey @wazbub.. we took our toddler last year.
Didn't hire a car seat as we mainly caught the bus and ubers.
Make sure you take yr children's birth certificates to the airport at check in, or you will be turned away (like we were ).
We took a cheap stroller, which was absolutely fine and turned out to be a good decision as the airline lost it on one of our transfers on the journey home!
We stayed in a 2 bed airbnb apartment with a huge secure balcony which worked for us - it certainly helped having a safe outside area to play in.
Best of luck with your next transfer xxxx
