Thanks @Minniemin @Cathy69 and @ferngirl for your responses.

Its refreshing to see so many positive comments about DE. TBH I have never really had a doubt about going down that route as my desire for a baby overrode any hesitations or concerns about "what if the baby isn't mine?!".

I will do my research over these threads and online - I have the time
I have a meeting with my RE this week to discuss my options, but I can't see the point in trying cycle after cycle if my eggs are pretty much kaput!!

Thanks ladies...I look forward to starting my DE journey in the near future with you all.

Huge Congratulations @ECM1981!! Pregnancy goes by very quickly and very slowly... So much to do and there are days when time stands still.

@ECM1981 Flipping heck hun!! I'm soooo thrilled for you!!!! I have to admit to having a spontaneous blubber over my laptop reading your news. You had such courage to draw a line under doing another fresh CT cycle and move on to surrogacy....and now look at the reward. It's just fantastic. October isn't far away at all. How long do you go overseas for and when do you get to bring your son/daughter home?

Thanks so much for your advice and sharing your Pred and Hypertension experience @Cathy69. I'm so sorry your Hypertension didn't go away. That's a real disappointment, esp to end up on meds for-ever more.
Based on your post I decided to ask my OB to be referred to a different Endocrinologist for a second, more senior, opinion. Hopefully I can get off the Pred sooner than 6-12 months post birth. My OB said there's no chance of coming off it during pregnancy because I've been on it so long (on and off it for over 2 yrs).
    Thanks again!
