Capetown is out it's too daunting I will not travel on my own and its too expensive for all of us! I'm finding it daunting for contemplating the 8hr flight to Malaysia. Good news watching heaps of take offs on YouTube I'm not freaking out in the comfort of my arm chair anymore that's progress!

@MysticFalls - I'm really feeling for you and can only imagine how scary and frustrating this is for you. We did 10 cycles through the world egg bank through Monash IVF so I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. I know there has been many pregnancies through the program however I would struggle to recommend this option from our experience. We did get pregnant a few times however unfortunately miscarried before 8 weeks for all of them - maybe I was just unlucky. Your cost of $30k gets you 7 eggs and they guarantee a thaw rate of 60%. If the thaw rate falls below 60% they will send replacement eggs and give you the choice to change donors if you want to. My experience was that the egg quality was really inconsistent (one batch we got 0 thawed) and the costs have gone up by 30% since our first cycle. I'm in Victoria which also has the added red tape of requiring VARTA approval each time you import and can take up to three months to be approved . My new FS is saying the pregnancy stats for fresh donor is much higher and he would no longer recommend the TWEB program due to inconsistencies in quality and costs compared to other options. In comparison, our first trip to South Africa (CFC) a third of the cost, we got 15 eggs, 8 day 5 blasties and I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant after 6 years of treatment and 20 cycles. Never give up hope xx

    Ecm1981,

Thank you and it's a lot to take in. I have been super anxious for the last 5days trying to find a way to fly. now it may only need a 1 hr flight which I know I can do. Thank you!

From now till Monday I'm on relax mode. I need to take the weekend to relax and just take time to breathe. Finally my dry mouth has gone, the heart rate is coming down. Those things kicked in for the last 5 days trying to find a way to fly.

I admire your friend being able to fly. I admire anyone who can. Believe me I don't want this fear I keep saying to hubby why me, why can't I be like you. It's not fair. It is more than nervousness it's fear. He has seen it and still is determined to get me to New Zealand oh heck! I might try a 2hr flight first and that's a big might. I wish I got excited about it. Tears welling up in my eyes.

Thank you for understanding my fear! No really a big thank you

@MysticFalls i really feel for you. Having a fear that completely takes over must not be fun to live with. I hope you can have a nice relaxing weekend and get back to feeling normal. I hope you find a way, i believe you will. If you still want this and its all you can think about you will find a way. Never give up on something you cant go a day without thinking about Xox

Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I have been online but in November my number 2 was born following my second transfer in Cape Town (for stats).

Master Aubrey was born at 38 weeks and 100g lighter than his sister born 14 months earlier. Today my friend (not on this site) also gave birth to her Cape Town baby (her first donor cycle after many many cycles in Australia).

Cape Town is amazing and the doctors are excellent. My friend said her actual transfer in CFC was far superior to any she had in Australia.

To those who may be considering this I could not recommend highly enough. Donor cycles are a dream in comparison to your own cycle, and success rates 60% or more compared with under 1% for my age and eggs. Dreams really can come true.

Here are the pics of both around 3 months of age. No doubt the embryos weren't confused. I still have 2 on ice and am considering one more in a couple of years.

    Best wishes to all.
