Default Egg Donation in South Africa #14

Congrats @Minniemin ! Twinnies! You will have your hands full... You were braver than me.. There was no way I was gonna transfer 2 as a single mumma with a 2 yr old daughter. I am sure you will be fine! So happy for you. Are you gonna have Nipt test?

    Congratulations Minniemin on Twinnies!!

Hope it goes really well. I have twinnies onboard and am currently 33 weeks. The pregnancy symptoms can be quite bad, but having twins is just the most amazing outcome from all of the effort and journey.

Wishing you all the best xx

Good luck to those travelling soon hope you have amazing results

The decision was made the day before.. like you, I have no issues other than egg quality so I knew it was a gamble.
At first we were "no way, only one" , but then we asked ourselves how we'd feel if it didn't work and we decided we'd regret not transferring two.
I'm still a bit wobbly about it but I know I'm going to love them - I already do ❤️❤️
Yes, we probably will do the nipt - you?

Being a single mother and already having a toddler was the deciding factors with me only transferring single embryos on my last 3 transfers. I would be less concerned having twins with a partner. I figure.. I have 2 hands.. So will be stopping at 2 kids.. Going with this same theory.. As part of a couple., u will have one free hand.. So you will have a spot for child number 4.. Lol.. Once your twinnies are here.

I got a heap of frosties this time and had already decided I would have 2 or 3 more single transfer before getting off this crazy train... So was happy to do another single transfer. Was only my crappy eggs holding me back.

I am doing the paperwork tomorrow with my midwife for Nipt test. I can have done from this Thursday.. When I am 10 weeks. I will however probably have a scan first just to make sure all in all good before shelling out all that cash., I intend to find out the sex.. Not sure how it works for twinnies.

Yep, I would have done exactly the same in your shoes.
Four kids, haha, now that is funny
I will find out gender but may have to wait until 20 weeks. From what I've been reading, the Y chromosome is stronger than the X - so if there is boy/boy (YY) or boy/girl (XY) twins, NIPT will only show Y (boy). The only time it's 100% accurate is 2 girls, then it will show X.
All of this information is from Dr Google so it could be outdated or just rubbish, I'll have to speak to my GP.
Congrats on reaching 10 weeks- they say 10 is the new 12 these days! X

Woke up in the middle of the night to blood loss of a few hundred mls and clotting . Bathroom looks like someone's been murdered in there. Pretty sure I've just miscarried. More Valium cyclokapron n pessaries up the who ha n back to bed just in case. Will try n have a scan tomorrow to confirm my thought. Was 10 weeks yesterday!
