Have a look at the accredited agencies - pretty sure there is a list on the Cape Town Fertility Clinic website.
Gift Ov Life, aBabySA and Nurture are a few that spring to mind but there are a few more good ones. The important thing is choosing a good donor that feels right to you.
My FS had nothing to do with my DE experience. I got my medical plan from CFC and went to my GP for scripts - BUT if you have some issues or complications that need monitoring you may need to involve your FS at this end. Best to speak to him first maybe.

Once you've contacted CFC (if that's where you're going) and chosen your donor it will all fall into place xxx

PS there is a Czech Rebublic donor thread on here just like this one xxx
    Thank you so much xo

Hi all, I haven't posted in the group before however I wanted to write and introduce myself and say thank you for all of the advice and guidance.

We have recently returned from South Africa CFC and are in the 2WW. Fingers and toes are crossed!! I couldn't have made it through this time without all of the information, hints and tips that everyone has provided to the group.

As you know it's a tough decision and can be an absolute emotional roller coaster, all of the information and some support of others we know who have made the trip has made it a little bit easier - I am not sure we would have been brave enough to make the trip otherwise.

Cape Town is an absolutely beautiful place and regardless of outcome next week we had an amazing holiday.

Wishing you all the best in each of your different circumstances . Xx

I agree that it is a tough journey! Even if you are not taking FSH as per a standard cycle.. I am taking so many meds I feel just as ****ty. I am on 6 pessaries a day after my low progesterone levels and Bfp so am so tired and having trouble fitting in my excessive pessarising each day..lol

There certainly aren't any guarantees for us choosing the DE route.. Our chances are higher., but unfortunately if you are one of the unlucky ones where infertility is due to unknown reasons.. You still may not get your take home baby. This was my 3rd trip to SA.. Second donor.. And won't be a sure thing to bub is in my arms. It is hard to decide when to stop.. Another 2 or 3 trips if this one fails? The next step.. Surrogacy is a lot harder and more expensive.

Good luck to everyone.. Especially those cycling or in the 2ww

    Hi ladies
It looks like we have decided on a new donor. Some of you mentioned getting their donation history. Do I ask the agency for this or will our doctor request it?

Email both the agency and the clinic.

The clinic will have a more complete history. I would ask them if this is a donor they recommend. If they said no.. I would find another donor.

I used a donor who had donated previously and CFC said she was a good donor.

I agree with the others the clinic is good at providing info re past donation history. I would ask about eggs collected maturity rate fertilisation rate blast rate and freezing rate.
