Maybe ask to speak to Hala or Lisa.
@siansmum Hey sorry to intrude on your thread again, i dont think sophia knows what she's on about. You cant import anonymous eggs or sperm or any body tissue thafs anonymous jnto australia. Re the supercare, i jyst bit the bullet and figured ive already spent 30 grand and gotten nothing for it, so what's another $1500? Since paying them, hala from supercare has been fantastic. The actual consultants that work on your application know their stuff and they know exactly what everyone needs to say on the apllication. They even organised a gp for me when i said the gps in my hometown are unhelpful. It totally is possible to have your application approved for overseas ivf. The thing is the Australian specialist needs to be willing to say "overseas ivf is the best option for you". Thats about it. They have their own gp and psychiatrist who also know exactly what to say. Im really glad now, that i took the 'risk' and just paid them. Sophia also gave me all the same misinformation. I kept saying 'but i know if other people that have done it'. Today when i spoke to Hala, she specifically said she needed flight and accomodation quotes for my app and even asked if i needed to include expenses for getting to the airport, e.g. petrol etc... I'd hate to tell you to do it if it isnt approved but i really wish i hadnt let sophia put me of a few months ago when i went for my first de oseas cycle. Having dealt with hala, im really glad ive decided to try. Its much easier than i thought. Although in saying that, please note, i havent actually had my application approved. xox

Thanks so much ladies. So am I correct in saying that once we've paid our fee, it's taken out of Sophia's hands and someone else handles the application from there on?

I never had any dealings with Sophia, so I'm not sure. Certainly sounds that way though.

    hi ladies,

this is all very interesting. So its not straight forward road in South Africa. If Im not pregnant by end of december early january. I should make the application asap then. This is mind boggling. We wont need to use our super to do the cycle or get there so does that make a difference?

    thank you

It's pretty straight forward if you're not trying to access your super to do it.
