@SnowWhite83 haven't been through that but sounds like a tough decision. Hopefully another specialist can give you further information to make the best decision?
Also I love a good back story essay. After all, we're all here as the fertility/ baby journey hasn't been easy for us. And this thread is full of useful info, help and suggestions, and lovely people.

Stay positive and look after yourself too.

I have quite severe endometriosis and had a huge clean out last August but within four months all of my symptoms were back. We were with a Genea FS who did my surgery to help our fertility but with how quickly it grew back she recommended going straight to IVF instead of doing another laparoscopy and that it wouldn't make any difference to our chances - just that I'd have to deal with the symptoms until falling pregnant.
We have our FS appt with Primary next Thursday so I want to confirm their opinion is the same as our previous
Mine was private sorry - but my sister in law has been on the public waiting list since last July for an endo lap and still hasn't had her call, it can't hurt to put your name down though in case your in a position to have the surgery when your name comes up.

Good luck with all your decisions!!

Hello ladies, had my first consult and now organizing my tests. I need bloods on day 2-5 and on day 21. With my scan (I have PCOS) it says Day 5-8. Does that sound right? Would you go for an internal US while mid cycle? Or should I wait to day 8 when it should be done.

    Hi~
It was the same time frame for me. I had mine on day 7 of my cycle. Hope all blood tests go well and you can start on your journey soon

    Thought I'd give an update:

Had the egg retrieval procedure yesterday, still a little sore today. It's more an uncomfortable soreness then a painful one. 8 eggs collected, and was informed today that 5 were fertilised. I am to go in on Friday for the egg transfer. So I'm staying hopeful.

I was informed to start the gel stuff tomorrow morning. Never done it before so just wondering if any lovely ladies might have some suggestions or advice for me about it?

I wish all ladies here the best of luck

    Good morning lovely ladies.

I've been getting incredibly frustrated waiting for my period to start so that I can start the stim cycle. I've had my ten days of provera to induce a period, and nothing happening, usually the period starts within 3 days for me.

On a whim, did a home pregnancy test last night.

Couldn't believe it. Two very strong lines.
Didn't trust it, so did another one. Also positive.
Lots of happy hugs and excitement!
Took myself straight off to the doctors to get blood tests to make sure, checked if the provera could cause any issues (was assured it wouldnt).
Got a digital test to check how far, and only a few weeks.

I've been on 1000mg metformin twice daily, iron and vitamin d supplements, provera every month to induce a period, all preparing me for IVF. This was so unexpected! 踫

So, so surreal. And a bit scary!

So all going well, I'll be having a baby in January 2018 踫踫踫

(And if not, I'll be straight back to primary!)

    Xx
