Good luck @Wonderer89, like me am sure you've learned lots here!

We've got our second app with gp in Preston (Melbourne) in two weeks, so hoping all the tests will get back in time!

Then it all becomes very exciting and very scary!

    Default M/C testing and understanding

    Hi all,
I have worked in cytogenetics for over 20 years testing for many patients involved in IVF. We are very aware of the psychological issues faced by parents that experience a miscarriage and therefore consider miscarriage to be our main area of research. Last year in collaboration with some of the other world experts in this field we released the biggest data set ever published. The reality is that in the first trimester we can show that around 80% of miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities. This is not the fault of any parent and it is important that if you do experience a miscarriage that you request that the chromosomes are tested for to set yourself at ease, as the self blame can last for decades. Hope that can help some of you out there dealing with miscarriage.

    Ladies question
I'm thinking of ditching my private health however I have had miscariges before with monash ivf and the d&c always done through private hospital.

So my question is how does primary ivf does d&c for MC.. through private or public and what were the fees.

Sorry in adavance if I'm offending anyone by bringing up MC just thought I'd ask before cancelling my private health.

Been following everyone's journey but first time posting. Seen our FS at Primary in Brisbane last week but can only see the nurse at the end of May 😩 My partner is going away in June so was hoping to go through a cycle next month 😔 We have been waiting this long so what is 2 more months, right?

Thanks @Ourlittlebubble how have you found it so far?
Does anyone mind sharing what they've paid out of pocket yet and if you have PHI?

Hi @Wonder89 I have found them pretty good so far (but I don't have anything to compare to) the only thing I have found is the nurse appointment is hard to get so once you know when your results are going to be back book it in.

I don't have private health insurance and all I have paid so far is $60. They have said my egg collection will be $600 and my medication shouldn't be more than $200. Medicare also covers storage of frozen eggs for 12 months.

    Hi ladies

We are due to transfer our frozen embryos to Primary IVF end of May 2017; the specialist said it will cost around $500 or so for storage and no Medicare rebate? is that right?

Also are any of you ladies have private health as well when transferring to or starting with Primary IVF?
I am thinking of cancelling my private health insurance but I might need endo scratch and D&C later on... not sure if I should keep Private health or not for the hospital fees and theatre fees etc.. any advise would be much appreciated.
