Please could I get some advice/suggestions for schools around Rochedale / Springwood / Daisy Hill area? Im wanting to send my son to somewhere local (he is due for prep next year) - my husband is set on John Paul College but i'd like to have a few options and am worried that my son might not fit into the very private/strict regime of John Paul? Has anyone got recent reviews on John Paul / St Peters / Springwood Road State School in particular? Or reviews on any other around the area would be great! I'm looking for a friendly/smallish school.

St Edwards is great, as is St. Peter's. Calvary is good too. All significantly cheaper than JPC.

If your son is starting Prep next year you would be hard pressed to find a spot in a private school. St Edwards, St Peter's and JPC are very popular. Your best bet would be to send your child to a state school next year and put his name down on a wait list for a private school.
My daughter goes to Calvary at Springwood and it is a great school. Small with only 300 students. Teachers are lovely and they really care for their students. Parents are really involved in the school as well.
In regards to JPC I know of someone that pulled their child out in Year One due to bullying. JPC is all about the money as well.
State schools I have heard that Springwood Road, Rochedale and Kimberley Park are good though Rochedale and KP are big schools with well over 800 students.

OP - ask at the private schools. They sometime do leave 2-3 vacancies for people that just move in. Rochedale SS is a good school but you must be in their zone.
