@Liz8585 keep at the metformin and if you find it way to bad ask your dr for the extended release one - its sooo much better,
when i went back on it in Feb i swear i had diarrhoea (sorry tmi) for 2 months - its not the case but it felt like ages, i also had to keep upping my dose so just as my body got used to the dose i would up it

i have posted this in another forum but wondered if anyone here had any advice - has anyone done IUI or IVF?
I'm wondering at what point do you go "f it - lets try that"
DH and i are about to start 2nd cycle of gonal-f injections and we are sooo desperate that i think i want to suggest we bite the bullet and go that way
how do you know when you should move on?

Hi trytryandtryagain, no experience with iui or ivf but had a lot of thoughts ourself about when to move on. I have a good fertility specialist who I trust and wentfor a what next consult and she discussed what she's seen from my last tracking cycles etc.
I think u need to have a discussion with your fertility specialist about - where it's not working for you, why he/she thinks it's not working, do u need any more tests done (ie laparoscopy), and then really find out more about the costs and time involved with iui and ivf.
At our FC 3 cycles of iui have the success rate of 1 cycle of ivf.
Ivf is a bit more than double the price and requires 3 days off work per cycle minimum.
I know the feeling of wanting this so bad! It's really hard, goodluck x

Trytryandtryagain thanks for the hint with metformin. Side effects settled gradually, things I'm coping with is nausea for now. Did you had a chance to check out acupuncture??

    @Liz8585 glad I could help
I haven't looked into the acupuncture just yet - with all the FS costs I'm not sure I can afford acupuncture at $100 a week as well
Let's hope our round 2 of gonal f is the one
    I'm on cd17/18 up to 137.5 dose
Off the see FS tomorrow fx she will trigger me and not put a stop to the cycle
I hope af shows soon for u - sometimes that's the hardest wait because you just want to get started on the next round

I'm feeling positive so far, been having troubles at work but thinking I will speak to FS tomorrow about whether she thinks I should take some time off

Thank you @morganleroy and sorry for not responding sooner when af arrives I always get in a massive funk and can't be on BH

I spoke with FS last week and she has suggested we wait a few more cycles
So far I've only o'ed twice (1 clomid, 1 gonal f) so she wants me to keep going for another 3 cycles at least after this one

In the meantime I have to start the chats with Melb IVF - that way we aren't far behind when we/if we have to make the decision

    Thanks again for your advice

    Good luck @Trytryandtryagain
I hope this is your month.

I'm 8dpo and I feel like ****! Pretty sure I'm just blessed with early pms symptoms. I had a progesterone blood test on Monday (at 7dpo) to see if I ovulated as it appears I didn't last month. I hope it shows I did!!
