Hi Liz I've just responded in a different thread but I understand where u are coming from
    I'm similar to u - 30, pcos since 16, 5 cycles clomid with only 1 response
Now on 1st cycle of gonal f went from 50 up to 125 when I finally got a response but fs was getting ready to call it quits on the cycle as they had seen 2 foll start but never mature

Have u ever been put on metformin? I was prescribed when I was 16 but it never really worked for me and the side effects were horrible but in feb this year FS prescribed again to "kick start" weight loss - 9 months later and I'm 12 kg lighter - and I shouldn't admit it but that's no real change to diet or increased exercise
I have a real sweet tooth so the metformin allowed me to control that and the weight dropped off

One thing I've found that helped was by Hun and specially doing my own ttc diary
I know people read it but it's my chance to vent
    Fx for us both x

Hello! No I haven't tried the Chinese herbs. My acupuncturist doesn't offer that.
We were trying 11 months before the letrozole. However, I saw a fertility specialist early at like 6 months as I had some concerns wirh very heavy periods and an uss that showed pco. I had 2 months of ovulation tracking - no meds, 1 month break, 2 failed clomid and now letrozole

    Goodluck to u too

Trytryandtry again, we are so much in the same boat. At the age 21 was was on metformin, I could not bear it for more than 3 days. Never worked for me, side effect was so bad, headache, dizzy, vomiting and so much worst. There I had 3 cycle clomid then I thought of taking a break coz coping with PCOS was already huge, thought... I took a break. Early this year this I started again TTC knowing that I'm not getting any younger. 3 year ago I went from size 16 to size 8 and reached 50 kg, I'm shortie 154cm. I went crazy on the gym and consume only 700 calories a day. 12 month ago went on holiday 4 weeks and then drift a lil bit and there back to the old creepy size 16 clothes. I'm not doing any dramatic diet atm just healthy eating and twice week to exercise. XOxo

Hi @Liz8585 I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. I also have excessive hair loss due to PCOS. It's a real downer.
It may be worth seeing a diff dr regarding metformin. The first time I tried it I was so sick I just stopped. The second time my dr had me ease into it and I coped so much better.
The sweet tooth associated with PCOS is the worst. I can eat a whole block of chocolate at any time of the day
@morganleroy the herbs taste gross but I work with all Asian colleagues and they swear that the herbs work. They also have all said that when you are TTC you shouldn't drink or eat anything freezing/with ice. Lol may just be an old Chinese wives tale but I'm giving it a go
@Trytryandtryagain do you blog your TTC diary? Or keep it private? I was thinking of starting one but unsure if I want the world to ready it.

    @dreamingofnumber3 I guess I blog it?? I don't know - it's in the bubhub ttc diary forum
I feel like it's helped - more than if I was to write it in a book at home
Something nice about knowing someone is reading it I think, it doesn't feel as bottled up

I agree with ur metformin comments, I started with the extended release and it means that u sleep through the majority of the side effects, it's also important to only gradually increase the dose
My FS suggested only upping the dose at the end of the week - I'm now on 1500mg and have no side effects

@Trytryandtryagain I'll pop over and read your diary. Everyone has such different experiences.
Although it saddens me that so many go through a struggle to conceive, the support here is great. I was a BH member 12 years ago when I was pregnant and 17! The support I got was amazing and I met friends for life. I drifted away as my boys got older (now 11 and 9) but now that I'm on this journey, I really needed that support and sense of community again

I got something to share, I tried acupuncture this morning for the first time knowing of the severe and dominating PCOS on TTC. Thought this might help along the way. Therapist recommend once a week to start with... baby dust all

@Liz8585 how did you enjoy it? I've been having weekly sessions for 4 weeks now and love it!
