    Hi mummanow,

    No problem at all!!
When he does the biopsy he tests it for four types of nk cells and he does a panel of blood tests which test T cells because he said there needs to be a balance between the two. It was under a full GA and I didn't experience any pain afterwards, just a little bit of bleeding. I think it's good to get done because he also looks at the structure of your uterus and in my case, removed a polyp that was there.

I am on the birth control pill because I do donor egg (I'm young but have an immune condition which destroyed all my eggs at 19) and I went for the hysteroscopy/endometrial biopsy while on the pill. I stopped it two days later and had a period which was just like normal.

I also asked him to do the dq-alpha blood tests between my husband and I because I had read so much about that. This is just a blood test you both get done and results for all of these tests take about 2 - 3 weeks. Contrary to some doctors who say this doesn't matter with donor egg cycles - it most definitely does!

I definitely recommend getting all the immune tests you can prior to going. I wish we had done that in hindsight. We have been to Europe four times and have had one blighted ovum and I wish I knew I had to be on all of this medication, it would have eased a lot of heartache and stress on us both.

I have also had thyroid blood tests and I have hashimotos so I am on thyroxine. I would not have known I had a thyroid condition if I hadn't have asked for the test. At one stage, a few days after transfer #3, my tsh was 16 when it should be under 2. Apparently estrogen increases tsh levels which is bad for ivf. I have the full MTHFR gene and the partial thrombophilia gene so I need to be clexane 60mg during cycles. I am also on vitamin e and aspirin for my lining which I take all the time, intralipids every 10 days starting 2 weeks before cycles and up to (hopefully) first trimester. I have been on 25mg prednisone which has now been changed to dexamethasone for immune suppression and then estrogen gel, patch and pills, and progesterone pessarys and progesterone in water injections.

Yes I find it interesting about Provera too! Apparently it's artificial and can damage the lining! Our overseas clinic said that too but we listened to our old fertility specialist who said it was ok, but has now been incorrect about a few things.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions
    Hi to everyone else xx

Hi ladies, hoping you might be able to help..

I have been taking prednisolone for almost 3 weeks now (15mg) per day. The first 3 days I was very fuzzy but then snapped out of it and have been fine, however I had friends over for dinner Sunday night and ever since my body has felt so run down and exhausted and I just can't seem to get back to feeling good again. Also my legs are aching- knees and ankles.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Or know if this is normal?

Thank you for your help x

Hi ladies,i was just wondering if anyone has tried low dose naltrexone for autoimmune problems? There's a lot of information out there about LDN and how it can not only stop autoimmune issues, but also reverse them. There's also fertility clinics overseas that use it for IVF patients.
    is anyone using it?
    Thanks xx

I don't really have much help for the two questions above although:

Pops - when I was on 25mg prednisone each day I felt really jittery, had trouble sleeping and nauseated. Once I stopped the prednisone after that failed cycle I had really bad pains in my legs/joints which I know is a side effect from stopping and why you need to taper. Something about your adrenal glands and they slow down? Maybe your adrenal glands are just being supresssd more from the prednisone? I wish I could help more.

Pink - I haven't heard about that drug but I'd talk about it with my FS. I'm all about trying everything and I'm now on a drug used to help treat cancer so it's funny how these drugs can be used interchangeably in IVF

    Thank you!

I actually had a consult with Dr M today and feel much better after talking with him. I ended up so depressed by Friday so he suggested taking St. John's wort which is natural and really helps apparently with depression also magnesium tablets for my aching muscles. Just a few more tablets to add to the list ! Ended up having a couple of wines on the weekend.. I think that helped!! Haha!

Are you with Dr M? How many cycles have you tried the immune treatment with?

    Thanks again x

Has anyone had a uterine biopsy with Dr M during Hysteroscopy? And a D&C? I may have a small polyp and was suggested by a gyno to maybe do a D&C and scrape away polyp or something like that?? Can't be sure I have one though - can this be seen when doing a D&C?

Also how late in the cycle can one get the uNK cells test done. Is a couple days before period pushing it - I can't remember? Thanks!
