@KittyCat thank you! That's so reassuring to hear!! I hope our next one works too.
@ES02 I'm not doing another retrieval soon. I have to keep reminding him I've still got 2 frosties lol but this time he said the melatonin will be good for implantation. And now I've decided to take a break to sort out some other health issues. So I'm not sure if I should take the melatonin now not knowing when I'll do another transfer or start it a month before deciding on transferring again.
Good luck on your third retrieval! Hope you get a great healthy haul!!! X
@mummanow thanks so much for the tips! I googled "buy-melatonin-Australia" and I get images of bottles from bioeva Australia for $19 etc. is that the same stuff we need? I just don't get why I need a script and to go to a compound chemist if I can buy it premade? Confused!

^ Is this the same thing we need?

And thanks for responding about the Mayan massage. I have a whole heap of adhesions from my endo also a retroverted uterus, which they claim the massage will help with. I'm getting excited about it now haha

    @Mink yes that's the one!!
I think iherb has only recently made that available as I tired ordering about a year ago and it was blocked at payment.
You need a script in Oz but not in the US. Some may say that the quality not as good perhaps but I've tried both and get the same results - I got a batch once from compounding pharmacy that didn't work and I lay awake all night so took it back. You won't be able to get it from normal chemists in Oz only compounding pharmacies make it up on a script.

My question is - is anyone else on melatonin and metformin? Are these expensive to get? I understand I have to go to a compounding chemist to get the melatonin but not sure about the metformin.

Also, random question - has anyone ever tried Mayan Massage for fertility? My accupuncturist recommended it and I know a girl with endo who'd been trying for years and fell pregnant naturally after doing the massage.
Hello there, I'm not sure who Dr M is but my endo just prescribed me metformin and your post came up when I searched this site. Google tells me metformin is for PCOS or diabetes and I don't have either.. I haven't filled the prescription yet, but my endocrinologist said it's quite cheap. Why were you prescribed metformin? I have to take 1000mg and if side effects are tolerable I have to increase to 1,500mg. Is that the same dose as you?
I am coeliac and try not to consume gluten, even though I don't experience any problems when I do consume it.
Do you know what the effects are on fertility if you are celiac?

Hi girls has anyone cut themselves while on immune suppressants? I've given myself a cut on oysters while in the river swimming yesterday and it got all puffed up and inflamed...I don't really want to take antibiotics but thinking maybe I should...

Just an update on my cuts - a little infected but keeping clean and doesn't look like will be a problem.

    Default Melbourne IVF Drs?

Hello everyone I am brand new to any type of forum...

I just wanted your advice on any IVF Drs in Melbourne?

I have FVL (i have had a DVT and PE 2 years ago), and hetro MTHFR (677 and 1298). We have been trying for 1.5 years. I had a Lap in Nov and found a tiny bit of Endometriosis (two small dots of bowel and back of uterus). Everything else looks perfect apart from high NK cells tested during Lap. Sperm is of very test came back with a gold star.

Dr said to go away after Lap for 3 months to try natrually for longer on aspirin. So those 3 months are up with still no luck, I haven't had a positive test ever.

I am seeing a fertility naturopath and acupuncturist. Temp charts look perfect, regular cycles and I feel our timing is perfect. AMH level is low for my age but I am 32.

My gut feeling says it's my blood/immune. So any suggestions on good IVF Drs in Melbourne? I am not that happy with the one I have seen. Someone who will listen and explain things just a touch (like just a few sentences strung together).

I can see you are all talking about two in Sydney but I would prefer to start in my home town if possible... Any other advise?

    Thanks everyone x

@kiz101 Lynn Burmeister is in Melbourne & works wonders. There's a thread dedicated to her, I'll tag you in it

@mummanow glad it's healing. Your immune system must be low for it to get inflamed. I have two shocking coldsores.
@kiz101, what did your AMH and NKC come back as? Dr Nick Lolatgis specialises in immune therapy. Like Dr LB, he's also at Monash. Who have you seen already?

Actually I'm not really sure why I've been prescribed metformin. I didn't even ask. I haven't filled my prescription yet either so not sure on dosage, I haven't looked at it in a while. I'm taking a bit of a break from ivf. I'm also supposed to have testing done for coeliac and if it comes back positive my dosage will be increased so maybe the metformin is for ppl with coeliac. I have implantation issues which could be immune/NKC issues which is why I see Dr M - he's a reproductive immunologist. I'm not really sure what the effects are of metformin on fertility for coeliacs. I've procrastinated reading "is your body baby friendly" for ages but that might have the answers there.

Dr M has me on metformin too, 500mg.
He usually gives it to try & regulate hormones & insulin resistance if you have PCO/S. Which in turn should improve egg quality which suffers if you have PCO/S
