Hi ladies. After 5 failed transfers (2 with Dr M protocol) Dr M has now upped my dose of prednisone, clexane, added intralipids prior to transfer, added melatonin and metformin plus has asked me to get tested for coeliac.

My question is - is anyone else on melatonin and metformin? Are these expensive to get? I understand I have to go to a compounding chemist to get the melatonin but not sure about the metformin.

Also, random question - has anyone ever tried Mayan Massage for fertility? My accupuncturist recommended it and I know a girl with endo who'd been trying for years and fell pregnant naturally after doing the massage.

Hi @Mink, I've been on Metformin most of my adult life... I get it for $7.50 from chemist warehouse for 90 x 1000mg tablets. I took 2000mg a day while doing ivf. So what doses of clex and pred will you be taking now? I can't answer your other questions as I don't know the answers...sorry.

@KittyCat thank you. Good to know Metformin is pretty cheap! Just saw your pregnant too - huge congrats to you!!! Hope you have an uneventful 9 months. X

Oh and to answer your questions re dosages, I'll now be taking 40mg clexane from 30, 25mg prednisone from 15 and progesterone remains at 200mg.

@Mink, thank you! I still can't believe it. They are exactly the doses I was on from egg collection and it worked, so best of luck!

Hi Mink, im sorry to hear you have had another cycle fail.
Melatonin is expensive, Dr M has put me on 3mg a day prior to another retrieval. You could try shop around for the best price but Its still costly.
I havent tried mayan massage but ive heard about it and I cant see why not try and give it a go.
If your going onto melatonin and metformin are you doing another retrieval?
I will be doing a third retrieval soon.

@Mink I love melatonin been on it to help with sleep (but prescribed by an FS for improvement with egg quality). I think I pay $60-$90 for a three month supply but have also just discovered you can buy from the US on IHerb for about $3-$10. As its only legal on a script in Oz you can only buy enough for a personal supply here at one time. I'd highly recommend getting it that way. Iherb is pretty cool if you've never ordered via them. Just be sure to select you are paying in $au x

And yes I've had Mayan massage - nice slow deep...I recommend it. Helps with blood flow and can break up adhesions.
