You need to be certain you are happy with it from the outset as you will have to do councilling with your donor where all this will be bought up and discussed so you really have to be on the same page.
Don't be afraid to say it now if you don't want contact or your not sure then tell her that. My donor and I have minimal contact she won't be in our child's life unless my husband and I want her to be and at this stage we aren't sure and we won't be sure until we have a child/children as it will depend a lot on what our child is like and if they are emotionally ready to when or if we will tell them.
The councillor will offer you heaps of suggestions from the appropriate age to tell your child to what the ED might be to the child ie Aunty or special friend but ultimately it's up to you.
I'm sorry about your bfn I had a bfn with my first ED transfer too which adds in another whole level too as you go through all this crap about ED contact and councilling about babies born ect and you still might not even get a BFP from it anyway.
I didn't know this, so you adopt a child and give it a permanent home but the birth parents still visit?? I thought that was just with fostering. Seems a bit crazy ifywim
