@gorgeousgeorge are you in Sydney or regional? Our tuxxy will be mad at me for leaving her alone for a day and a half, she will bury herself under our doona at some point, poor little darling who is looking after your kitties?
@tuxcat lol, yeah i forgot 300km radius is actually a fair distance, regional nsw, middle of nowhere, but i like that. My mum will come and feed the cats each day but im already worried about them. I give them little pep talks about not playing on the road and making sure they stay safe while we're away.

@Billie2 nah it was @Charlie74 :-) my cd i got was for my back pain. I read an amazing book about case studies of people who healed themselves from serious diseases and pain through brain power and got inspired but i still havent listened to it yet. Hopeless!

@Sue77 yes i can understand about it being hard to work with the little ones. I remember someone on this thread (ive forgotten who soz) was a nurse in a maternity ward and one of my embryologists was doing ivf herself. I cant imagine how hard that would be. To be honest, i think that being a teacher in the same school for 10 years in a small town/ its the only high school in our town, has probably given me really valuable observations and insights into the similarities and surprising differences between parents and siblings. So i see whole families come through the school. I only just realised in other occupations, its probably rare to be constantly meeting members of the same families and getting to know them over 6 years. As much as i want to do the mum thing, teaching does allow you to be an important person in childrend lives, so although its not the same, its probably the next best thing in a way. Teenagers also much easier than little ones or babies. Dont think i could work in a day care.
Regarding your donors height and weight, i guess you cant tell how that will work out sometimes people have family traits that they dont show themselves, so you won't know until bubba was all grown up anyway and by that time, i reckon youd be head over heels in love anyway xox

    Default IVF over 40#39

Hey ladies.. So I've been away for a couple of days and just been doing a big catch up on here. DH is looking at me like I've gone mental as I've gone from crying through to bursting out in laughter several times. @Sue77 I'm in awe of your strength - I really hope this is the beginning of all of your happy endings. @gorgeousgeorge and everyone else worded it so beautifully, and it really is such a personal journey and decision. For me, (although it's scary) it's about completing my family - IVF has been traumatic and heartbreaking and time is not on my side at my age. A couple of months ago I reached rock bottom after cycle 3 failed almost exactly a year after an ectopic miscarriage. I found myself in a restaurant with friends, one of whom innocently asked if we were going to have any more kids, when I burst into tears at the table.
That was my 'enough is enough' moment.
I have zero doubt that I will hold my gurgling little DE bubba in my arms and feel like their Mama. And I'm sure when they are having a toddler tantrum I will love them just as much. It's taken me a bit to let go of the attachment to my own DNA thing - but really, what does it matter? My son was conceived naturally and he's nothing like me - he constantly surprises me with his individuality and funny little ways. I feel confident that if our DE baby dream comes true, that this one will surprise us just as much.
Thank you so much to everyone on here for all of your beautiful, honest posts. You are all just bloody amazing. xx

@ange1111 good luck with your CM appointment today, can't wait to hear all about it
    @Btae how are you going?
@skeeter I read somewhere you were on dhea - was that just for this cycle?
@pingc383 how are you? Are you doing another cycle soon?
@Tahli all the best for a safe flight and everything going to plan with your fet x
@tuxcat things are getting very exciting for you!!
@midnite Best of luck to you moving forward with de.

    Hello to everyone else
@Grace1 I used DHEA for my last two cycles (cycles 3 and 4). I was only on it for 6 weeks the first time and 2 1/2 months the second. The first cycle with it wasn't so crash hot, the second was great!

I think it was you who mentioned l'carnitine in a post?? Can I ask what made u decide to take it and how much did you take? It's a supp that I've considered taking a few times but I mostly only find info related to male fertility not female!
@Charlie74 I read about it online and I was desperate. I will try to find the link tomorrow. I took the dosage on the tub as there wasn't one recommended when I read it. I could only get the powder and it smells and tastes gross..
