SIL took our daughter out for a few hours which was great as we got groceries done without her but now SIL is hanging out at our house and I seriously want a nap!

Need to be away from bub for a couple of hours on Wednesday so am trying to express. He has other ideas and will only sleep in my arms, like he knows "his" milk is going elsewhere lol.

I'm going to have a similar issue when bubs is about 3 weeks old. Not looking forward to leaving her at all.

Hope you manage to express enough to last her.

Have you tried pumping while feeding?

Not sure I'm coordinated enough for that haha! I managed to get him into a deep enough sleep to transfer into the bassinet so that's one pumping sessions done!

While I'm talking about pumping / EBM, how much milk would a 2.5 week old baby need per feed? He usually feeds every 2.5-3 hours. I was thinking maybe 100ml?

I think that would be plenty. I was thinking maybe 60ml? Maybe a larger number of smaller amounts to minimise waste?

This. Put it in smaller amounts. You can always heat more if needed.

Thanks ladies. Just tested him with a 90ml bottle and he downed the lot of it; he's a big boy lol. I'll send him to my mums with a few lots of 50ml.
