    No he failed you by cheating, lying and leaving.
    Stop allowing him to come into your life like he owns it. Focus on yourself and finding something fulfilling to do. This isn't a midlife crisis, this is him being a jerk. You deserve better then to be treated like an option after his other relationships breakdown. And him rating you as a wife...you should have rated him back at 0%. I would have lost my mind.
