New girl joined my youngest son's prep class this week, took me a double take.
    Nartarliya.

I am coming to a point where nothing surprises me anymore.

    Please share!

ETA - actually maybe not, I'd hate to think there were hubbers or people looking at the forum after entering their babies in the bonds search and then seeing a thread of people making fun of their bubs names. Bit less anonymous when you've said where you've seen it...

That's a mythological Greek character (and common in Greece).
    From Wikipedia:
Electra is one of the most popular mythological characters in tragedies.[1] She is the main character in two Greek tragedies, Electra by Sophocles and Electra by Euripides.

Yes it's a name from history. But it's a bit like calling your kid Thor or Zeus. Bit much?? Though I'm sure there's plenty of kids with both those names so I'll give up now lol...

I've seen a little kid named Thor. And a knew a guy who called my kid Thor as a nickname. (His name is Theodore and I think he stuffed up trying to say Theo and Thor just stuck so he didn't look like an idiot).

And my Dad knew two Greek fellas, one was named Hercules and one was named Achilles so I wouldn't be surprised by Zeus.
I'm not a fan of any of those names though (Thor, Zeus, Achilles, Hercules). But I prefer them to modern day "made up" names.
