I had my scan this morning and there was a heartbeat, 168! Soo relieved. Although still feel a bit uneasy because he said he could see where the bleeding was coming from and I asked him can it be dangerous for the baby and he said it depends on how big it gets, it could be bad. But I won't get the actual results until I see my gp on Tuesday so I'm still a little stressed

@SurferGalGC my bump is definitely much worse at the end of the day too. I normally never bloat so it's very new to me so I'm calling it my bump.
I think I will wean my crinone a little over 12-13 weeks. My FS is on Mat leave so I can't call to ask. I'll have extras that'll end up in the bin so if I just reduce to every 2nd day until I'm 13 weeks.
@Muchulu1 awesome your placenta is posterior. I hope you start feeling the movements soon!!
Glad to hear you're feeling better off your meds. I can't wait until my energy levels come back!
Exciting you're planning your exit from your business, I hope it all falls into place and your take over can step up.
@bubbles21 YAY!!!! best news! I'm so relieved for you Hun. Hopefully it shrinks and you have nothing to worry about! When do you have your hospital appt? I'm sure they'll monitor you very closely!

I dont think I have a hospital appointment until about 15 weeks which is still 6 weeks ahead. I just had a look at the scan images they gave me and at the bottom they put "scan age" which was 6 days behind my actual due date. I really feel like somethings not right

@bubbles21 don't stress about the "scan age" they can vary so much early days. The measurements are in millimetres. Your doctors office would have gotten the results today, they would call you to come in earlier if there was anything urgent on it.
I know it's easy to say but try not to stress over this. The heart beat is strong which is amazing. Xx

@bubbles21 such good news about the heartbeat!!
Did they refer to the bleed as a hematoma? There's a thread on BH about these bleeds which I found really helpful. Sooo many women went on to have healthy pregnancies after their bleeds. In most cases it seemed like the bleed was just absorbed by the body over time. In other cases, even if the bleed did get bigger, although higher risk, women still did have healthy bubs.
When I went to emergency, they scheduled a scan for me two days later at the Early Pregnancy Unit. They also scheduled a follow-up scan two weeks later which allowed them to compare the size of the bleed!
I know it's hard to walk away from a scan like that and get such an overwhelming sense of relief when you see the heartbeat but then you don't walk away with a tick or approval from the dr. It's kind of like everything looks as it should, "buuuut"..
I hated that "but".
I hope you can get another scan soon for reassurance xx

IVF babies due March/April/May 2017
Also @nicole83 might be able to offer some words of reassurance too. She's had two bleeds in two pregnancies. She's about 10/11 wks by now and is on bed rest with a bleed x

No it definitely wasn't a haematoma which is why it confused me! It looked like a second separate sac just as big if not bigger than the one the baby is in! He tried to explain it but I didn't quite understand. He also said if it gets bigger than the babies one, it could be bad as the baby won't have room to grow or something like that

@bubbles21 oh bugger! Another anxious wait until Tuesday for answers!! Don't be afraid to ask for a follow up scan sooner. Especially so they can monitor the size. You deserve to out your mind at ease sooner than 16wks. The worry in the meantime isn't good for us or bub. We go through enough hurdles with Ivf as well. I think we deserve more scans for reassurance!
The bleed I had did look like a separate sac too. But I agree, I didn't understand much of what they were explaining at the time. Another word they kept using was perigestational bleed.

Oh they don't do any scans at the hospital. So yes I'll need to organise it separately if I want another one (which of course I do)
