We only did it two nights and she worked out we weren't standing for her shenanigans also worked out she likes movement so she had grown out of her bassinet so bought a rocking one as her cot won't fit in out room and when she needed resettling I rocked her... though this afternoon she is in her cot and had to re settle twice and so far she is still asleep... hopefully another semi easy night

That's a great article thank you. Arthur has become SO unsettled at 8 weeks, I'm tearing my hair out. 6pm screaming fits as the article says. He will not sleep during the day, is overtired, screams. I agree he might be overstimulated, he is a very curious baby, doesn't want to miss a thing.

Had a long chat to the ngala hotline, and booked ourselves in for a stay at the sleep clinic. They say it's a three to four week wait though

until then I will just have to try by repetition to teach him to sleep in his cot. They said take a week and do nothing but teach him to sleep on a stationary surface. I might go stir crazy but it will have to be done I guess. They said part of the problem may be if we always leave as soon as he is asleep, he feels lost when he wakes up and then refuses to nod off... Guilty as charged.

It's not that I don't love him but I had hopes for things to do while on mat leave. So I am anxious to do them when he nods off. i have to go back to work in four weeks and I so don't want to...

Honestly @NORgirl the boredom worked... now we walked her when she gets overtired to get her to sleep and then transfer her once home and guarantee she will wake within 30 minutes for a feed and then she's going back down... she is still 3 hourly though like clock work... then I hear about these babies who sleep 8-12 hours and I'm so jealous... today i tried mum's and Bubs pilates and she didn't let me do that... Monday trying a movie mum's and Bubs session let's see how that goes good luck with Arthur I hope he settles soon I know how tiring it is... today I was so over the crying but if I hold her she stops... my back is killing me already and we just hit 5 kilos... God help me as she gets bigger

    Hi ladies,
I have been totally AWOL over the last few weeks but have just been trying to catch up on all of the convos - welcome to all of the new beautiful babes, I am loving all of these adorable names & gorgeous photos! Also, I hope the Mumma's who need sleep & support are finding it, even if gradually. Just remember to always keep talking!
Looking back even now, I have found that suffered terribly with antenatal depression and anxiety throughout my pregnancy, but particularly toward the end. I was highly emotional, irrational at times, feeling sad, scared, guilty, unable to cope & terrified that it was an indication of how my life would be as a new Mum & that I wasn't good enough... Or even that I just wasn't enough full stop. It was such a lonely & difficult time for me and also really difficult for my husband too, we would argue at times out of frustration - he could see that it was very real for me although he just didn't understand... but he would do his best to try though. I guess through this I have truely come to appreciate support, love and the benefit of groups such as this, who will just listen.

On a much more exciting note, I'd love to finally introduce you all to our stunning little lady, Eadie Gai, born via emergency c-sec at 9.28pm, Monday 10/10/16. A happy & healthy 8lb 1oz (3670gms) & 53.5cm long. We are all doing really well & are beyond smitten!
