Default tongue tie for a 3 yr old

I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a child having tongue tie and whether this caused the child to have speech issues. I have a 3 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with tongue tie and am just looking for some advice.

I have a friend with a 4.5 year old who's planning on delaying her child starting school next year due to the tongue tie causing major speech issues. She hasn't been able to find anyone in her area that will snip it at her child's age either.

My sisters son is 3 and has a grade 4 tie. He has no speech issues, thankfully. He actually speaks very well and is extremely articulate. He was diagnosed with it at around 1, But the dentist would not perform the revision unless under general anaesthetic and as he was not having speech issues he advised to wAit (though he did have issues gagging and swallowing)
