I've heard of that happening before. Was a trap many serial non lodgers fell into when Rudd was handing out the KRuddy money in the GFC. They lodged their tax returns to get the $900 bonus only to find out "their" money was diverted to their ex when there was a child support debt.

My partner hasn't done his tax in 3 years csa have estimated his income every year from previous years and his payments are based on their estimate and if he does his tax return and his income is less than what they have estimated then that is bad luck for him and means his ex got more money than she was entitled to. If they underestimated his income then he will have to back pay the difference.

Out of curiosity does he see the kids? Do they know he isn't paying?

Here's a heart warming story. I know a woman whose dad never paid it. The mum had to raise her on her own. The "dad" moved overseas. My friend was in her late 20s and just had a baby. Her mother had passed away a few years before. The dad came back to Aus and was stopped by immigration. He had to pay up all the money owed! It was heaps. My friend received it with glee on behalf of her mum.

Hmm well that sucks. I know it's only 3 grand and not as much as some, but if they say they can force them to do a tax return, why don't they? Wonder if I keep ringing them up and annoy them they might get on top of it.

No, he doesn't see the kids despite only living half an hour away. I haven't told the kids he's not paying, maybe when they're older I will, but I want them to form their own opinion of him without my input, even though I know he's a douche lol.
