Last year I was making a specific recipe and needed a particular ingredient. Having no idea where to find it, I asked a lady who worked at Woollies where I could find Quinoa...she looked at me for a second and said "Oh you mean keen- wah? " Haha yeah that's the stuff

Oh and until I saw it on Facebook recently, I had no idea that slang was short for "short language". Of course, it makes so much sense lol.

I don't feel too bad now. I thought New Zealand was above Australia when I was younger. My excuse is I didn't do Geography in High School.

When in hospital with my first, after my csect it was over 24hrs till i got up.

I came out of my private bathroom for the first time absolutely amazed that the hospital was sooo thoughtful, they even provided a urinal in the individual bathroom for the dads who are able to stay.

This made mum and my partner very curious. Mum asked if i was sure and i said yes, it was there next to the toilet.

Mum went and had a look, and she came out in fits of laughter... "no shadow, that's a bidet"

    ...a What? ??

"A bidet. It sprays water up onto your bits to clean them"

Yep. I felt pretty silly after that

When I was about 23 I started to look into the dairy and veal industry after hearing people talk about how cruel it was.

I found out that cows don't just lactate constantly, that they need to continuously have calves to keep up their milk supply. I had no idea, I told a couple people who both laughed. The penny finally dropped.

I now buy milk from a dairy that values the welfare of its animals.

This made me laugh so hard I had tears! 😂

I only realised this year that Prince was black and that's only because he was being to referred to as a black artist over and over again in the news.
I just never saw it before.

Default What was your "duh" moment?

We've had our stroller for 3.5 years. We tried when we first bought it and it didn't seem to fit in the boot because of the anchor straps of the car seats. I've struggled getting it in and out almost daily for YEARS from the passenger seats- usually there was limited room to open the doors and since dd2 came along it gets in the way of dd1's feet. A nightmare.

Out of frustration a couple of weeks ago I tried to shove it in the back.... And yep, it DOES fit, rather easily, in the boot. Sigh.

I always thought in terminator 2 that Arnold Schwarzenegger said

    "I still love Easter....baby"

I also didn't know until really recently that the scene in Grease with Kinnicky and Rizzo where he was talking about his '25 cent insurance policy' was actually a condom and not a cheap insurance policy.

Ah I love the Easter one!

There was a good thread a couple of years ago about stuff we didn't get til we were older. Grease featured rather heavily in there if I remember correctly...
