Default What was your "duh" moment?

I didn't realise what euthanasia was until mid to late teens. Before that I always wondered why people were so worried about youth in Asia on the radio news.
I said something to my sister one day and she nearly wet herself (18 months older and therefore far superior!) and still brings it up every now and then and it was 20 years ago.

Dobbing in my sis but she thought 'gluten free' was 'glutton free' and it meant it wouldn't make you fat

WTF! Mind blown. Off to google Angel and Booth.

Yep, you're seeing a "duh" moment live people.
That the way the tuna is caught using specific types of nets etc are dolphin friendly so no dolphins are getting caught or accidentally killed in the process

In primary school when we had dictation and the teacher repeated the sentence twice..I thought that meant you had to write it twice so would always write the 2nd sentence really fast and would always wonder he was going so fast. Left me reakky scarred for years.

When I was younger and visiting my boyfriend (my now ex husband) in Sydney, we saw a news story about a drive by shooting in Lakemba. I thought it was a country in Africa haha...I've had heaps of duh moments.

The other name for it is napolitana, maybe that's where you got confused?

I think my big duh moment came when I found out what really happened to my childhood cat that went to live with my grandma's friend. It was actually put down but I didn't realise that until about three years ago!!

Ah these tales are all so adorable!

I was well into my 20s before I realised it was 'abortion' not 'nabortion'.

I also remember clearly the moment the penny dropped that 'realise' was like 'real-ise' (making something real) and it blew my mind! I have heaps of those wordy moments, which is partly why I love the English language so much.
