@Maxwellsmum hi, i know we havent spoken personally before but i wanted to say that i am very sorry about the difficult (understatement) DE journey you have had. I dont realky know what to say but i can identify with you when you said about thinking DE was a solution. Im glad that you posted about your feelings about struggling with DE because it helped to give me a reality check and have a more realistic approach. I just really feel for you and i wanted you to know that i care xox Im also interested about hearing about ECM81's surrogacy info as it seems like a good idea to have as many plan b's as you can. I just wish that i could make it happen for you. Im rambling now but... big hugs and best wishes. xox

I think when we started we were given 6-5% chance. but that resets each time so each attempt is that or less as time goes on + each embryo is that %. it's not cumulative as I understand it. (even though I wish it was)

Have a squizz and tell me what you think. It's a bit depressing as these articles invariably are but it does explain it well I think:

I think that article is fairly accurate @BIB. Certainly relatively impartial.

For me, I also think the 8% is pretty accurate too. I was given odds of 5-10% success when I started. Obviously if you use donor eggs that would be much higher than own eggs though.

On the positive side I was getting worried it may have been cancer so its a relief to not be that. The symptoms can mirror it. It also explains my extreme moodiness of late. Crazy hormones.

Oh, I feel your pain hon. If you remember I had an open milk duct that became infected not long ago and you're right, the pain is quite exquisite. Not only that, but it's also bloody unfair since we have never nursed a baby before. Painful reminder, anyone? Big hugs to you hon

@BlondeinBrisvegas thanks for the article. Our first appointment with FS was devastating - he basically said - you're too old and have ZERO % chance of success. Looking back - he was right but in a 10 min appointment which cost a fortune that was just not the best way to talk to us. And as that clinic didn't do embryo transfer or egg donor or anything else they didn't tell us about anything else! I learnt more from a nurse in the area and then on this forum!

Anyway.... we've booked our flights - Sept 14th in Greece! So this is our last leg of the journey - excited and scared and happy and sad..... hmmmm praying to hold a little baby at the end of this!! I wish everyone the best of luck and science/medicine!

@Bongleyly congratulations on your baby!! @Maxwellsmum some surrogacy agencies in Canada have a freeze on international patients/parents at the moment because of popularity of needing surrogate and lack of surrogate. We are currently investigating Ukraine. I know that sounds alarming but as i look into it more and meet more ppl it is becoming a little more comfortable with us. Its also cheaper the Canada, thats not our sole reason but money is not as free flowing in this infertility game. Could have bought a unit with what we have already spent trying to get pregnant! Look at New Hope, Lotus and also google families through surrogacy, an Australian organisation providing info on different options. Sam is the co founder and is available to help. Xx
