I just mentioned in another reply that we were always told it was egg quality for the first 7 cycles with Monash. But have since understood we were being overstimulated with the wrong protocols therefore affecting my eggs. I have PCOS so always have a good lot of eggs picked up but alot drop off between day 4-5 resulting in one to transfer and if we are lucky 1 to freeze. As soon as we moved to QFG we saw a huge improvement in egg quality! DH has sperm issues as well. So our issues are not huge but pretty important when your trying for a Bub! Charlotte did say that we were still getting good quality blasts to day 5 and said that if we were not getting any blasts or we were and they weren't good quality then she would recommend donor but didn't think we were ready for it. She mentioned that statistics for our age as well and said it was a numbers game and believed it would happen within 3-4 cycles. We were on an aggressive protocol with intralapids as well.

This is worked for us but may not work for everyone! It's has been a long 4 years of Ivf that's for sure.

I'll be cheering from the sidelines for you! This is your time!!
@Keepontryin13 oh, ok. Thanks so much for replying. I think im just getting last minute nerves to be honest. Yeah, i also forgot that my last 3 stims only resulted in 4 eggs each cycle, with 1-2 crappy embys on day 3, so yeah i also forgot i was a poor responder/low ovarian reserve and ivf itself wasnt very effective for me. $5k for 1 ivf emby vs. having sex for free. Double- der!!! (How have i 'forgotten' all this stuff about the most devastating time in my life???) Cool. Im ok. I will just worry about what to wear and how to fit 10 pairs of shoes in my suitcase from now on. Thank you for your support everyone xox

It would be awesome if you could share your protocol just to see what worked for you. I hear QFG do a lot of alternating the doses of Gonal d and menopur, is that what you did?
@pingc383 what I meant from aggressive is a lot of drugs! Only around 250 of gonal f, luveris, clexane, triggered with pregnal, a few more that I can't recall. Also intralipids at egg pick up and transfer. With my FET only at transfer and after BFP every 10 days until 12 weeks. Also baby aspirin, ralovera, compounded supplement, prednisone, Sandrena gel and pessaries! If I find my protocol and take a snapshot for you!!

@Rosie8888 will do :-) thanks so much for your kind words, its lovely to know everyone's wishing me good luck, especially when no one in real life knows. Today everyone in my staffroom was talking about the 60 minutes episode on overseas donor ivf which was on tv last night. I just stayed quiet but i was like "thats what im doing on the weekend, you know, as you do. Everyone's doing it." :-)

@pingc383 its funny, you know, ive never met wazza but it was on this thread that i learnt about the lasies doing donor ivf with wazza and thats how i learnt about oseas de and that it existed. Honestly if it wasnt for bubhub and this dr wazza thread id be resigned to having had to give up. So i appreciate dr wazza heaps and the ladies on bubhub soooo much.

@gorgeousgeorge can I just say that I have a really good feeling for you on that one!
You know it's funny how we can see things way more clearly for others than for ourselves!

I read with attention your background and all the reasons why u went for de. I've been following you for a while now, but didn't know all that.

It makes a lot of sense. I'm a really down to earth person and so are you: Pros vs cons then decision. Bang.

Considering what you want in life and given the parameters, I def think u made the right decision.

And I can't see any reason whatsoever why this wouldnt work for u. You're young, your issues have been identified and addressed... I genuinely think this is your time.

    Should we bet?

I can't wait to hear about what will probably be the most exciting and intense journey of your life!! Xx

@Keepontryin13 thanks hun for the precious info.
    Your journey really is inspiring!

My plan will prob be to stay between epu and transfer for a small holiday so I only have to go twice I guess...

One question that I have really is for the first appt: everyone mentioned something like 90min with the Fs but then, do they run some tests for the couple and if so, how long does it take?

Just need to know how long in total the whole thing will take and if we can book a flight on the arvo or rather at night

@LillyM where are you flying from? I know Charlotte did a scan and it was a general chat etc and took around an hour but when we first moved to QFG last year we did have some blood tests and it took a bit longer. Not sure if you can overnight the night before have an early appointment then fly back in the arv? Depends where you flying form I guess?

    I'm flying from Sydney.
Yeah was thinking arriving the night before and flying back either on the afternoon or evening depending on how long it takes.

I guess I'll wait for @ange1111 appt next week to get to know how long it takes approximatively
