And it's just grown since then. I'm not surprised by this one bit. Saddened yes, surprised no.
We have a church being built on a main road near us with a cross out the front about 5 metres high. No one cares. Imagine if it was a mosque? My god the outrage would be felt over the entire city.

The reason Hanson got in is bc not only did she get the usual bogan vote, I suspect she's got the religious one. Bc it's more than ok to take a Muslim's rights, to try to extinguish their religious freedoms but anyone dares even criticise the very Christians demanding these changes and they are screeching persecution and whining about how their beliefs aren't respected.

Pauline Hanson is a racist

I'm tempted to start a spin off thread about how to squash racism. I think most of it stems from ignorance, mis-information and fear mongering. It makes me so angry and sad.

My understanding was it was the usual sort of vocal minority that have been protesting this ****e for decades.
I had no idea Hanson was even running until like 10 days ago. So yeah. It is a big surprise for me that a) she would run again and b) enough people would vote for her party for them to get multiple seats.

The people who voted for Pauline Hanson (mostly rural Qld) have probably never met a Muslim in their lives.
I don't know who said it earlier but we do have a Muslim in the lower house who just got voted in for his third term and he swore on the Quran. http://m.smh.com.au/federal-politics...701-2p8l2.html

And there are plenty of non-religious people or non-Muslims scamming Centrelink, it's not fair to think that only Muslim people would do this (get benefits they aren't entitled to), or that they would do it at all. In my occupation I have come across so many people who, for example, claim single parent payments when they are actually still with their partners and living together.
