I think its a very lovely, unique way of honouring your sister. Our pets are our family, your sister would have loved her dog immensely, and for that reason I would definitely use the name Beau. Its a beautiful name in itself, and the link behind it is very thoughtful and touching.

    No, not honouring the dog.

Both of my sister's DD's middle names are the names of their dead dogs. She got a few comments, but her dogs were like her babies, so it meant a lot to her. I don't think it's weird!

I think it's a sweet, special way to link your son to your sister. I love it!

If your a dog person then you don't see them just as just dogs anyways and only non dog people would likely find it weird.

We lost our beloved girl last year and have already discussed potentially naming any future DD's after her.
I also remember a little girl at the dog park with the same name as her granddad's dog that was still alive.
Your life, your family, Sod what anyone else thinks! It's not like it's Buster lol.. Beau's beautiful 😊

In the first season of "The Real Housewives of Melbourne", it was revealed that Andrea's kids' names were: Bud (girl), Kiff (boy) and Buster (boy). Now they definitely sound like dogs' names!!

I was floored when I heard that. I couldn't work out whether bud was a boy or girl, she looked quite androgynous in the first few scenes. are bud and kiff short for anything?
