Oh @VickyP poor Jaime . How are YOU doing coping with his silent reflux? Are you getting alot of help from family to give you a break? It's mentally tough to be looking after a baby while sleep deprived. I remember the first 4 mnths with DS. I think I cried everyday trying to stay sane.
Hang in there hun. There are alot of things you can try if Losec isn't working- wearing him is one. Awlful for the back but hey any relief for them is relief for us right?

Yeah still travelling for work.. thankfully it's only for a week and Ob gave the clearance to go @clucky14- remember to try and stay off ur feet. Yeah the heat isn't helping is it? A few more weeks and it will all be worth it.

Hope all you new mummies and bubbies are doing well and getting to know each other

Thanks @tjuls. It's tough I admit and I am trying my darnest to stay sane too. I'm glad I'm not the only one needing a good cry every now and then. I'm not getting alot of help from family unfortunately cos my MIL is ill (that's why we are here) and my FIL and BIL are hopeless with the baby.

We made a trip to the hospital to see the PD last night because Jamie has these results spots on his face (like mosquito bites, started with one on the right cheek and then had a second on left cheek yesterday so I panicked) and guess what? She did a skin prick test and it turned out that he's not tolerating cows milk! Not a real allergy but weak digestive system. So we have to switch formula again to one that's hydralysate. Double whammy. Wonder whether the reflux is related. Dr can't tell yet but said try new formula and see if reflux goes away. Hopefully he sleeps better.

Thanks for your encouragement. It means alot. Xoxo.

Good luck with the scan @Maz40! So the scan is requested by Primary FS and not your OB? Most of us graduated from Primary after the 6 week scan. Didn't get a call afterwards. Just saw the FS and got paperwork for referral to OB. Call primary and ask? Oh and if you are going for NIPT, there's no scan. Just a blood test and a 10 day wait for results. I would think your OB should have referred you in this case so that he/she is informed of your results?

I agree @tjuls the first few months are so so hard ah I remember with my little girl whose now 3 I was so stressed at the start but I suppose that's also a combination of her being the first child too and everything she did I panicked 🤣 My feet have been really bad this second pregnancy terrible arch pain and top of foot pain into my toes even when they went swollen have had this for about last 4 months could be part of my existing back problems I suppose will be speaking to doctor next week about it as I went to the shops yesterday and struggled to walk 😩6 weeks left as of today so least I am getting there 🤣 I hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully the heat stays away though Sunday in Sydney is meant to be terrible!

@VickyP is right @Maz40. Primary will usually discharge you from their care after the dating scan. So I don't think you need to call them if you are already with an OB.
@VickyP. Oh what a bummer about not having any help hun. I'm sorry to hear about MIL. Hope it's not too serious and she recovers soon.

May I offer a suggestion? It may or may not help with Jaime but it did work for us and after months and months of crying hopelessly hoping for a change... it was heaven.
We had the exact thing with Ds. I was stubborn and wanted to keep going with the Bf so around the 3 mnths mark, I acted on instinct and got some lacteeze drops ( 3 drops per feed I think) and gave that to him with expressed milk. Omg.. he was reflux improved, so we took him off Zantac and kept going with the lacteeze. At 4.5mnths, his appetite revved up and i wasn't making enough so that's when we weaned him. But then his reflux and fussiness came back. 6 tins of different formula later, we found Nan Gold HA was great for him and after comparing all the tins we bought, discovered that NAN was 100% whey protein while the others had casein. That's when all the dots started joining up and we figured he was lactose intolerant and his digestive system was tolerating the casein in the formula.
He was a whole different baby after that.
So you could try the lacteeze drops if you are still BF and see if it helps, if not, then changing formula to a fully hydrolysed one will no doubt in my mind be good for him.

You're doing well hun. Have a cry because you're allowed. It's tough on your body and your mind and I know you're doing the very best for him right now. I hope the end of the tunnel is near and relief is coming soon.

I'm always here for u too
    Xx

Well, Quick explaination: I bled at week 6 that's why Primary asked me for an ultrasound on week 7 and I saw the specialist same day, she gave the referral for the ultrasound for week 10 and suggested for me to see the OB week 9, which I did. I had my NIPT test on Wednesday and as I got a referral I will have the ultrasound today (week 10) maybe "I do not need it" but I am quite happy to see my little thing again and make sure that it is growing. As the ultrasound place it is next to the clinic I will ask them if they will call me etc
    Thanks for your help! Xxx

Good luck @Maz40. I know what you mean by being happy to see your bean again. I would be too. if all goes well at the scan, you might not need a call at all.

Thanks @tjuls for your advice. We are now using an extensively hydrolysed formula with whey protein too. Hoping that it will help but he's still having his reflux. Maybe it takes a while to work? Poor fella. Will try to hunt down the lacteeze drops here but I'm not expressing at the moment. Just latching. Hoping the relief comes soon. Xoxo

Oh dear @clucky14, sounds painful. Perhaps get some good shoes to help relieve the pain and try to put your feet up as much as possible (I know that's tough with a 3 year old in tow). Good idea to speak to the Dr about it. Hugs hun.

    Woohoo!! @Maz40.

Glad to hear ur little thing is all good. I'm so sorry.. I totally forgot to wish u all the best in my previous msg. Was walking and typing at the same time and was concerned about VickyP's problem.
Hope I didn't offend you hun.
@VickyP.. it might take a a few days for Jaime's digestive system to heal enough to adapt to the new formula.
Keep going.. I think you're on the right path. Xo
