Default How much do you pay to get your hair done at the hairdressers?

Im curious how much ppl pay. I went to get a quote today from a salon at the local westfield and i wanted a quote for a colour refresh on the top half of my head and bottom half toned as i have a balayage (however it's spelt).. And blow dry.. $210! Um no thanks!

I'm so lucky I found a good hairdresser who works from home, her set up is just like a shop and she's just down the street from my place, win win lol
She charges $40 for a cut and colour is around $80 depending on what I get done.

Hmm I'd say that's pretty standard.

I pay $150-$180 every 8 or so weeks for half/three quarters of a head of blonde foils and a blow dry. With a haircut, usually a trim every second time it's $200-$230. That's for a pretty good salon but it's cheaper than the previous salon that was maybe $50 more.

About $250 for half a head of foils, treatment and trim. I have long thick hair.

    Subbing out of interest.

I've resorted to dying my own hair as I have pesky grey hairs that I need to cover (and I like to touch up every 6 weeks or so).

I think the last time I was quoted for a single colour was $120. To me that is expensive.

I only get a cut and its between $95-120 - depending on if I get the director or senior stylist.

    Did they itemise the quote?

$210 for a cut and colour, extra $50 for balayage. This is for a curl specialist salon though. I go about every 4 months- it's expensive but I figure that, compared to items of clothing and shoes that I only wear occasionally, for something that I 'wear' every day it's good value!

To me that's standard pricing for it.
