Besides, if you find that insulting then what about the accusations of the store scamming you - that is insulting. For something that is most likely human error.
Just get your refund and buy something from somewhere else.

I'm thinking maybe the display stock you tried on was returned to the display shelf and perhaps another item was taking out of stock from the back but the staff member accidentally took out the wrong bracelet.
that, or you're just confused with the quality of the bracelet? I've done that before, fallen in love with something on the fly then returned to buy and noticed flaws I didn't see initially.

maybe you misinterpreted the whole scenario in the jewelry store? if you're this rude to people, no wonder stupid things happen to you. nobody wants to go out of their way or do favours for rude people.

OP, there are many possible explanations for what may have happened.
The important thing is that they are going to refund your money.
I think it's completely over the top to demand they pull security camera footage over a mix up with a bracelet. They are guilty of selling you a product that didn't meet your expectations, and consequently refunding you. End of. Let it go and find a new jeweller.

I think it's all they can do too is give you the refund.
Unfortunate for you, that you didn't snap the bracelet up when you first saw it and got it for the price you wanted, but since you only put it on hold and didn't pay a deposit on it, they could have even chosen to sell it to the customer standing behind you who picked up that it was a great price. Who knows, there are a few scenarios that may have happened, but at least you get your money back and at least there are plenty more jewellers around to choose from.

As others have said, I would just take the refund and be finished with it. I also think it's a bit of an overreaction to demand to see security footage. A mix up could be due to so many reasons - many of them completely innocent errors.
I read the description of the law that @Sonja wrote and had no idea it was so complicated! (though it doesn't entirely surprise me). When I worked in retail we were told we could 'withdraw an item from sale' if it was incorrectly priced. In one of my stores we frequently had people switch price tags in an attempt to receive a better quality item for a cheaper price. We would have lost lots of money if we had to honour the ticketed price each and every time!
