I got one because my carpel tunnel was so bad I couldn't use my old iron. Have since had surgery but still love my steam station.

My DH is obsessed about having a good iron. I seriously hear about how awful our iron is every week.
    He wants an ironing press.

I'm clearly a weirdo, because I love ironing, and I am utterly obsessive about it.

I have a Philips "Azur" and I love it. Generates heaps of steam, not too heavy or expensive. Had it for ages without problem.

I've also got a Philips, it's pretty good. Probably spent about 150 on it? I think those big ones that sit in a dock are meant to be the bees knees.

This sounds great. I wonder if I can test any instore. I figure it's worth the money if it saves time, which I increasingly have less of!

In case anyone was interested I ended up buying a tefal steam generator. A $500 model is on clearance at hardly normal atm for $228 if anyone else was in the same boat. So far I have ironed 3 shirts and I am pretty impressed. Should be fun until the novelty wears off 😂.

I have never had a great iron so can't really compare but it's definitely far easier to use than my old iron and I like that I can now steam upright (ie dresses hanging etc) too.

@Sonja FYI and anyone else interested. We are really happy with the steam station - worth the extra $ (so far anyway). Makes ironing heaps heaps faster and easier. I still don't love ironing but don't hate it like I did before! DH is still very excited by it.
