    Is it bad that I don't actually know what a squat is? Is it like to the ground or half sticking my butt out... Like sitting on the loo?

    Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulders, knees point outwards and then crouch down but bum must go down only stopping if you had a large ball to sit on. So below knees. Knees must stay out or you injure them.

    That's a squat. Or how I do them. Friggin hurts.

    Yeah from what I understand spot exercise isn't supposed to target specific areas and we're all built differently and respond differently to exercise, etc, etc.
    However, I've found squats to be one of the most effective exercises as it engages all those pesky hard-to-tone muscles.
    It's just a starting point for me and a little exercise is better than none

    Now, in the spirit of being honest (the reason I started this thread) I completed my 40 squats on Friday but I've been drinking wine and eating cake ever since Ah well...it is my birthday

    Tones your butt. You can't spot reduce fat etc but you can tone specific body parts. My butt is a bit flabby after my recent birth (and all the consequent sitting breastfeeding) and given my postnatal Physio is being strict with what I can't do yet, squats are my best chance at getting some booty tone back 😂.

    Is best to do with weight, but Physio has banned me from that too 😁
