Default Newcastle preschools and primary schools

Looking for recommendations for both preschools and primary schools in the Newcastle area (particularly Adamstown, Merewether, Hamilton etc).

    Thank you

I would give the schools a call and see what you think. I rang all 3 that you have mentioned, and went with Adamstown. They seemed so accommodating and went out of their way to help out. My children don't start there for a few more weeks, we don't move to NSW for another few weeks.
The schools are zoned though so you won't be able to attend them without an address in their location.

Not sure about schools but there are some great community based preschools in the area, Uniting Care have one which is over towards Kotara, there is also one at Hamilton, and Henry Street at Merewether. If you go to mychild.gov.au and select the tab that says preschool or kindergarten and then enter the area a list of those available will come up.

    Thanks everyone!
I'll give Adamstown a call Monday.
It's always nice to have a recommendation from people who have used the centres.

I've spoken with Henry Street and they were lovely!!

Do you mind me asking which Adamstown one?
There seem to be a few - Adamstown preschool, Adamstown Community Early Childhood and preschool etc.

    Good luck with your move

The Uniting preschool at Adamstown Heights is fantastic

It is a very popular preschool though, so I would put your name down ASAP.

My DS is starting primary school next year and if you want a public school, they are very strict on only taking children within zone.
