I'm so glad there seems to be more good ones out there than bad.

What model Hoover do you have @babyno1onboard & @SammiJane?

@monicaglenfield I like the sound of the Vax.

@my2monkeys I haven't heard of Haan befores, where did you get it?

I still haven't got one yet, there's too much to choose from LOL, which is a good thing I suppose. I wonder if I could rent one first to see what I like

So you've done your research and went with Haan, that sounds promising. And good to hear MIL loves it too

I basically read reviews on a few different ones and bought according to features i liked and the price and only if it had more positive reviews than negative!

I asked this same question between 6-12 months ago. I was overwhelmingly recommended a Bissel. I picked up one at good guys for around $125. My house is tiled throughout and I do have to fill the tank twice but it's so simple to do it doesn't bother me. The other thing that may bother you from your list of must-haves is that it has a trigger button under the handle but honestly, I think it's been a fantastic purchase and have not regretted it.

I personally wouldn't bother buying in Godfreys. I originally looked there and their prices were a joke and their range was limited. I do recommend taking a look in good guys before you purchase anything.

Thank you @HeavenBlue, sorry, I must have missed your thread when I was looking, I could only find ones from 2014. Anyway, I appreciate you telling me about your Bissell, it is one that I've been looking at. When you say the trigger button is under the handle, do you have to hold this down the entire time you're mopping or just to get it started?

Godfreys is a bit out of my budget too, $125 is reasonable

Mine is called a Hoover Steamy wonder steam mop... we got it from godfreys when we bought our new vaccum cleaner. think it was about 99 dollars. It does have a fairly small water tank but i can nearly do our whole house in one go. (i normally run out as i get to our ensuite) Our whole house is tiled as well!!
