Oh yeah it took us about a year lol! Probably ours were the worst! But ours walk all over us and we know it. They are 4 and still will pee and poo on floor if we forget to put a wee mat down when it's raining! The drops were expensive but I think they worked for ours. I just use a spray of vinegar and water to clean up messes. He sounds super adorable, he'd walk all over me too. Tissue games are cute

@Maxwellsmum He's trying to rip the back of my knickers off through my tracksuit pants as I type. It's a specialty of his!! He sleeps draped across my neck or with his head nuzzled down my pj top, so he can get skin to skin contact. Maybe he's having an identity crisis with a kangaroo. He definitely helps with the washing, both creating it (today I'm washing 3 wool doonas from him peeing on them in the last 24 hrs) and pulling the lower hanging garments off the clothes horse. He wants to be held while I'm on the loo. Biting, chewing, barking, crying. He's ruling the roost.
I rang the RSPCA to check out their puppy schools. I just need to work my qld dates out so I can figure out how to slot things together. I'm meant to be seeing Wazza on the 24th June. I'm also meant to be flying up to Noosa for a weeks holiday from the 27th June. I can bring forward my qld flight and stay in Brissy for an extra 3/4 days but 1.5wks is too long to leave puppy really.

@Tinachris A year?!! God help me!! I'll go insane!!!! I use the puppy pads. He'll use one for his middle of the night loo trip. And I have food treat/rewards for if he uses it during the day (once a day if I'm lucky). Obviously the pads are made for grabbing between his sharp little fangs and running away with to stash in his puppy bed, which again is obviously not made for sleeping in, but rather for stashing his extra special finds. I've put two puppy pads out now.

@Tahli to toilet train mine I used to bring them outside every two hours on a lead to the same spot and give them a code word/phrase. I used to say do your puddles. Give them praise if they do and ignore them if they don't. Not like ignore them in a mean way but just don't react. Eventually we go to the stage where we would open the door and say do your puddles and they would run out and wee. If they wee in the house ignore them, don't let them see you cleaning it and use diluted laundry liquid. When dry I used to sprinkle area with soda bicarbonate.
    I want a doggie!! 🐶

@Tahli - what Lolly said ... And also watch for him turning in little circles ... He'll do it just before he selects his spot to pee, scoop him up take him outside and wait till he goes outside (same spot is good) then praise him like crazy ... Can take a while cos you upset his rhythm by scooping him up but you get there in the end. Consistency and doggie brains will determine how long it takes - my German shepherd was onto it with 4 weeks, but she was a clever girl. My current cocker spaniel we got as a completely untrained adult dog and he's still unreliable - partly cos he's not that bright and partly cos he's just got a bit of attitude :-D. Good luck! Vinegar helps get the smell out ...

@Tahli why don't you Put the puppy pads everywhere and you might have a better chance of catching him peeing pooing on one? I love how he wants cuddles while your on the toilet lol!!

They were worth all the effort, the trauma, the near death experience and my current incapacitation 😊
