@Tahli - sound like a nasty virus, hope it's short lived, take it easy.

Hi Bib, years ago I worked for a generic drug manufacturer, they aren't allowed to sell a generic drug unless it has the same ingredients and proven efficacy as the name brand in Australia so it should be pretty good.

An update from me. I had another BT this morning and unfortunately my HCG is only 189. That makes it definitely unviable unfortunately. I have to stay on my meds for now and my FS wants to see me in the next week, I'm just waiting for a call back. Bit b@mmed but it's what I've been expecting.

I heard that too. The only part that was allowed to be different was the inactive portion.
BiBV if your drug has been out for awhile there should be a generic brand. If it's relatively new (I think it's under 20 years old) then patents apply and the developing company has the exclusive right to sell it. That of course doesn't mean that it can't be added to the PBS list. Just that the government will likely have to pay more for it. Not their favourite thing spending money (except on wage rises for themselves) but if there is enough benefit (like a drug that is way more effective than anything available currently) or enough of an outcry they will add it. Celebrex was one of those 'outcry' cases. The government paid a lot more for it than they do for most drugs because so many people wanted the 'miracle' cure for arthritis. Mental health being one of the most common illnesses in Australia you would think there would similarly be massive support for adding your medication to the PBS. Hopefully they are already considering it and after July it will be a whole lot cheaper.

Thank you ladies for your support today, especially @Infinity for coming by and thinking of me.

I don't know what to say really.

It has just been the most terrible, terrible day. Aside from the fact that I'm not holding my precious baby in my arms as I feel I should have been, so many other things have gone wrong today.

I don't know how I am going to move forward from here to be honest. I don't know what to do.

I think some days it's an achievement just to breath in and out. It's definitely one of those days. 😦Try not to think about what's ahead for now, just take care of yourself!
