Default Pasta salad ideas suitable for childcare

    Hi all,

I'm after toddler friendly pasta salad ideas suitable for childcare (so no nuts). Salad specifically as they don't have a microwave.

Do you know any simple & tasty recipes?

I make a simple one by adding pasta, tuna, cucumber, carrot, capsicum, and a spoonful of ricotta. Dd seems to like it!

Mixing pasta with a tin of tuna is super easy - can use the flavoured ones like Tuna & Mayo or sundried tomato etc. Can add tinned corn, diced cucumber etc for extra veg.

If they don't like tuna maybe just some diced tomatoes, cucumber, corn and some olive oil, salt & pepper/dried herbs etc.

Not the most nutritious but a packet of pasta mixed with a jar of sweet and sour sauce is quite tasty! You could add capsicum, carrot and pineapple if you wanted.

Roast some cherry tomatoes ( cut in half , splash with balsamic and bake in a very low oven for about 45 mins) once cooled just toss into cooked pasta and add some chopped fresh basil leaves , a few glugs of olive oil and shave some parmesan cheese over the top - it's basic but flavoursome and most kids like tomatoes !

This is what I'd for toddlers too. I use spirals. Everything is easy for them to pick up in fingers or stab with a fork!

Mayo, olive oil, herbs, corn, carrot and parmesan went down a treat today - thank you! Must stock up on some more exciting ingredients when I'm out shopping next.
