I've just found out I'm pregnant and due at the beginning of Jan 2017. After a bad experience going through the public system with my first baby I have my mind set on Mitcham private this time.
I'm really struggling to decide on an obstetrician though and wandering if anyone has had any experience or heard any feedback on the following obstetricians:
• Sophie Leong
• Jason Chew
• Peter Tang
• Jean Woo
I have seen Jason Chew with my last pregnancy, although it was only briefly as I miscarried at 10 weeks. He was lovely, but I just feel like I might be more comfortable with a female.
Feeling comfortable with whoever I choose is really important to me. After a rough first pregnancy and labour as well as a couple of miscarriages, someone who can put me at ease (whilst also being realistic) is high on my priority list.
I have booked an appointment with Sophie Leong as I know she books out quickly and I didn't want to miss out, although I've heard some mixed reviews. I have heard that she can be not so pleasant at times.
I've read some great things about Peter Tang. It's just the male vs female thing I'm not sure about.
Jean Woo I haven't really seen or heard anything about. Has anyone had any experience with her?
Any feedback would be appreciated so much

I am currently seeing dr Nia Eshani and she has been fantastic for me. I have found her to have a really lovely bedside manner and has put me at ease. Like most doctors I have found you also need to ask lots of questions and not expect them to tell you everything and anything to do with pregnancy (something I thought they would just do but makes sense)
She has two consulting rooms, one at Forrest hill and one next to Mitcham private - at both she has an u/s machine so I get to see bub at every visit 😊
I have had a friend use Peter tang for 3 pregnancies and they have loved him, and another friend use Sophie. I understand Sophie is fantastic but can be rather straight to the point... Don't really know much more.
Hope my feedback has helped, reach out if you want to know anything else 😊
