Hi all! Sorry for the silence... time has flown since my BFP back in early May. As you may remember a few of us were on Known Egg Donor's second program and got to meet our lovely SA donors when they were here. I'm now 20weeks along and having a little boy to join DS12 and DSS7. I would have joined you all in Cape Town but our hearts took us towards KED. Finding pregnancy a little harder at 42 than it was at 30 but trying not to complain - it was our first donor cycle after 8 full stim IVF/ICCSI cycles. We are overjoyed and can't wait to our little man's arrival in Christmas week. I'm going to jump on the thread and catch up with all of your progress so far and wishing you all the best in your next steps to motherhood. Xxx MamaKes

    Hello everyone,

I am new here and I am hoping that one of you lovely ladies is able to help me.
I have had three rounds of donor egg IVF in the Czech Republic and have just found out today that our last round ended in a chemical pregnancy. Devastating.

My husband and I are going to try a new clinic in South Africa and I am really hoping anyone can let me know their process/experience. What clinic did you use? Did you use a donor agency independently or does the clinic organise this for you? And, if you don't mind, how much did you end up paying for a cycle?

We are feeling quite down about the whole process. I had a blighted ovum in March which we found out at 7 weeks so wondering if we will ever have a happy ending right now.

Really, any help you can provide us will be so much appreciated.

    Thanks so much xxx

Congratulations jennski, I've been eagerly awaiting your news. So happy for you and DH that your dreams finally came true. I can't imagine throwing work into the mix with twins! You must be super mum! I liked your LB and CJ nicknames. My two are the same. Boy is LB, Girl is CJ.

Okay, I will join the LB boy and CJ girl club! This covers our twins as well, little boy is VERY placid but little girl is quite 'spirited', she can be quite a handful when DH is away (he is FIFO).

Sunshine sorry you've had such a tough run!
Have a read through the threads as there's so much info on here.
I'd sugesst have immune testing before going again if you haven't already.
Most of us used Cape Fertility and have had good experiences
    http://capefertilityclinic.co.za/int...onal-patients/
Ask them for a list of recommended Agencies (as they will be accredited) and sign up for all of them and choose your donor. The donor agency you choose will tell you where your donor is willing/available to donate at but I'd recommend Cape Fertility.

Omg mine too ! Jackson is very happy and easy and Charlotte is very temperamental ! Worth every bit of Grizzling though and worth every bit of pain over the last few years.

    Hello Ladies
I was wondering whether anyone is in Capetown at the moment? We will be going in for our day 5 transfer on Tuesday and plan to leave later this week all the best with those on their journey and waiting. I'm not sure whether to have 2 or 3 embryos transferred? To make up for lost time but at the same time not sure whether I'll be able to cope with having twins or triplets at my age 46 next year.

Hi, I had no hesitation about transferring two. I understood the twin risks and were comfortable with them. I wasn't offered a triple transfer but it would have been one too many for me. In the end, we only had two blasts (no frosties). We had both transferred and have boy/girl twins. Little man is being fed right now!
