    Default Fertility Specialist Recommendations?

My husband and I have been TTC on and off now for a few years, my husband is defence and we have seen a specialist in our last location and had some tests done, I have polycystic ovaries (apparently without the syndrome) and he has sperm issues, I didn't love our doc there so left it at that until we moved, but we are now in Brisbane and need to pick up where we left off. It's most probable that we will need to do IVF/ICSI but I am also looking at any natural or medicinal assistance to increase our chances of a natural conception. Any advice on doctors/clinics, or where I can find information on success rates etc, would be very much appreciated! TIA

I may be wrong but Defence may cover the cost of certain things due to your DH having problems with his sperm. I may be wrong but I have heard they pay for IVF if the serving member is the issue. So with saying that, medical may be the ones to recommend a specialist for you?
If they don't, and you don't mind the travel, I highly recommend Dr Alwyn Dunn on the Gold Coast. He is brilliant and used to work for Monash infertility as well.

    Hi @RenaiH,

I can recommend a few options:

Simone Campbell or Julie Lindstrom at City Fertility. They both came highly recommended to me by my GP and acupuncturist. I've been seeing Simone, and she is very thorough and practical. Both are very highly regarded in their field, with excellent results. Based in Spring Hill.

The other doctor I'd recommend looking at is Dr Michael Wynn Williams who is both a fertility and endometriosis specialist. He is at Eve Health and all the doctors there are very well regarded across all the gynaecological fields. They are based in Spring Hill and Southbank and offer free parking to patients (which is an added godsend!). I'm being treated for endo with him, and really love their approach and warm atmosphere.

Thanks so for your help! It seems a little overwhelming getting started and making sure we're in the right hands, particularly when it's a whole new city and we don't have friends here that have been through it, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond! @GreenFlower @twentysomething @BabyG4

Qfg full service and Monash have the highest success rates across the board. They go back and forth who 'wins' each month. The quality of the lab is very important, not just the dr ( although obviously important) . I was good for qfgs stats as I got preggers first cycle. The stats are diff depending on ur age. With endo ( removed) 35y o , no male issues I was advised about 40-45% chance off a fresh cycle a couple of percent lower off a frozen.

I travel from WA to see Dr Warren De Ambrosis at QFG in Brisbane. He is fantastic and is the legend known as "Wazza". If he can't help you.. No one can. I would kill to be in brisbane so not to have to travel. He is direct, but very nice bloke who knows his stuff. He and his team bend over backwards to help you.. Ie last cycle he gave me his after hours number for me to call him on a Saturday for results. You don't get that from many dr. Don't waste yr money with others.. But be prepared for lots of tests scans and lots of monitoring as he throws everything at it for you to get utd. Get on his cancellation list. Good luck. Check out his appreciation threat for more info.

Another big recommendation here for Dr Warren de Ambrosis through QFG. Theres a big thread (or 6) on here about him. I have PCOS and we have him to thank for our 3yr old DD and I'm 36wks pregnant with no 2 thanks to Waz.

I'd recommend Dr Warren de Ambrosis too. I have PCOS, endometriosis, adenmyosis and advanced maternal age, whilst DH has motility and morphology issues. We are due to have bub #1 next week thanks to Wazza. We saw another FS at QFG before Wazza and wish everybody could go straight to Wazza. He is the best.

If you cannot wait for Wazza, he works with Dr Charlotte Mooring and her wait list might be a bit shorter. I've also heard Dr Julie Lindstrom is brilliant.

They are all in the Watkins Medical Centre, Wickham Terrace, Brisbane.

    Good luck!
