I'm still waiting đI have just 'survived' the threes, it was the worst year with a lot of stuff that you listed happening.
Controlling to the point of despair ( me)
Over the top drama tantrums and histrionics
Was scared of monsters too and a bunch of other stuff ( even flies ffs)
She also begun crapping herself to punish me ( she knew how to toilet, but knew poo knickers ground my gears)
Went through an extended period of really bad sleep, even the daycare ladies looked fully fed up with her, every morning, when I dropped her off to them I felt thrilled and free, then she turned four and each week things just get better, she has a lot to say, most of it is rather sweet and she is developing a great sense of humour, tantrums are nearly a thing of the past I just feel like it's coming together and she is developing a great sense of right and wrong and has developed empathy , I'm just starting to really enjoy her company and its fun now to go do things together.
It's the age, it's a horrible horrible horrible age . I only realised how tense I was when I started to relax abit. Hang in there, the pay off is not far away.

Oh em gee, worst dinnertime ever. My head is about to explode and he knows it. I just texted FOB and said he needs to come up this weekend for two nights no excuses or he'll be looking after him for much longer while I'm in jail :-)

You've described my 3.5yo DS to a tee too. Please tell me that they instantly become human again when they turn 4?

Yes my boy has many similar behaviors at times. Dont know where he gets the 'I hate you!' As it is something no e else says. Maybe tv?
He is 4 1/2 now and less clinging. He likes independence and doing things his way.
