Default Recommendations for GP in Perth

    Hi

I'm looking for a new GP as I'm really not happy or comfortable with my current one. Myself and hubby have been trying for about 20 months and my GP has recommended that we see a specialist. I still have to see my GP because of problems with my thyroid though and I find that I'm always having to ask him questions or do my own research (which is fine) but he seems to miss a lot of things in my tests and he is very unsympathetic and a bit condescending to me. So basically I've just had enough because everytime I leave his office I end up either really angry because of his mistakes or I'm crying, I realise some of this is because I'm frustrated with not being able to conceive but I really think I need a change from him but it means that I have to move all my medical history so I'd like to get a good GP.

Sorry this has turned into a longer msg than I intended, if anyone has any recommendations for a GP, I live near Balcatta so somewhere NOR would be great. Thank you

@Margi8: I am sorry. I struggle to find a good GP as well. I have seen 7 GPs so far. In Perth too. I am still looking. I find their knowledge being limited. I know that there are good ones out there but I am kinda give up on the system. I go there asking for referral to see specialists. We have thrown so much $ into seeing specialists for stuff a good GP can do. I hope someone can recommend a good one for u.

However, I think you shouldn't waste your time on GP for your issue anymore. It is perhaps time to see a fertility specialist. Xx

It's not north but Dr Frayne at Leeuwin Medical in Palmyra is the best... She recommended me to the best fertility clinic and did all the tests needed beforehand to save time and money! Get to her with your hubby and both get checked ASAP! Honestly she is great and works at KEMH too so knows her women's health

I see Dr Sue Rogers at Onslow Road Family Practice in Shenton Park. She is absolutely lovely and very empathetic. It would probably be about a 20 minute drive for you from Balcatta. She also did all the fertility tests for my husband and I before referring us to a specialist.

Make sure you are referred to an excellent fertility specialist. I'm happy to provide details of mine if you are interested, he has quite the waitlist though. Good luck with finding a GP

Its so hard isn't it bbhope. I've seen two doctors in the same practise for the last 3 years and I dread going in there now. They've made so many mistakes and don't look at my file properly, I'm in there all the time for blood tests and they forget that I'm trying to get pregnant which is my reason for being in there. Its so frustrating and I'm annoyed at myself for staying there so long and giving them money. Hopefully we'll get a good specialist but I still need a good GP so hopefully I'll see one of the ones mentioned here!

Trigg health care centre, Charles Riley Rd, just off Marmion Road.

Both Dr Taylor and Dr Quadrio have been great doctors for me in regards to female health, and Dr Forgione is quite possibly the best doctor I've ever taken my kids to.

I know it's not super close but they are well worth the trip. Kind, empathetic and very thorough.

    Good luck 😊

Margi8 if you've been trying that long I'd just get a referral to a fertility specialist/clinic. You may not need ivf but they can definitely help youore than a go can
