Umm to be honest I'm not to hopeful , like nothing seemed to go right on Monday , they couldn't really see it properly on the ultrasound and what kind of gave me less hope was when at the end she said well it's in there somewhere ...... Last time was so much better

Hey SurferGal, sorry to hear about the hematoma. It seems to be so common after ivf. Yes I had a massive one with dd2. I bled until 20 weeks because it kept refilling. It was such a scary time. I hope yours is smaller and absorbs quickly. I was put on bedrest with Valium for a few weeks to relax my uterus and cykolpram (spelling?). If you have a look under Wazza thread I'm sure others haven mentioned the meds. Might be worth suggesting to your gp to put you on them if you're not already?
We leave for our holiday in a few hours. I've been up since my 3am middle of the night pregnancy wee it's going to be a long day!

@Xxsmileyxx93 aww I'm sorry you didn't get a good vibe from it! She's right though, you do have a little embie in there somewhere that hopefully is snuggling in. I know it's so much easier said than done but try and stay positive, for your little embies' sake at least x
@nicole83 oh wow, I didn't realise there were medications for it. I'm not sure if they mentioned how big it was. They didn't say all that much about it to be honest. And if had such a big few days at the hospital that I completely didn't even think to ask anything. I was just relieved to hear that everything else looked okay still.
Is the idea for it to bleed out completely and then not refill?
Yoohoo! Enjoy your holiday you lucky duck!!!

Sorry for the late reply SurferGal. As you know, I have been away on hols. Hoping by now the bleeding has lessened for you? They don't know a lot about hematomas and why they are so common after ivf. I wasn't exactly sure what the plan was drying it out or letting it refill, to be honest I just went with whatever warren said. Good luck Hun hopefully it's only small and almost gone x

@nicole83 yes, bleeding has stopped which is good! I've had some brown spotting but that's it, so hopefully it's all cleared up. I have my scan Monday so will hopefully find out then. I guess they'll be able to compare he size from my last scan at least.
Hope you're making the most of your holiday!! How have you been feeling? Any symptoms yet? How far along are you now? 6 wks-ish?
@Xxsmileyxx93 have you had your blood test yet?!

First round of IVF
SurferGal - wonderful news on blood stopping and changing to brown. I hope your pregnancy stays uneventful now for you!
Yes I'm 6 weeks 3 days today. Going to be getting my referral for first scan hopefully next week. I'm back to being nervous and finding it hard to believe this could actually go right.
In saying that though, I've had the lovely reminder that pregnancy is happening with morning sickness day and night. Ginger ale is my new best friend. I'm hiding it in a black water bottle so no one notices! Haha I've bloated heaps too. Clothes are already tight.

How are you going SurferGal??
I saw my gp yesterday who did a referral for a dating scan but she didn't want me to get it done for 2 weeks! Even though I argued the point that with ivf I have done it sooner. This didn't sit right with me and was going to get scan done anyway. I spent an hour calling around all of the scan places in our area, only to be told available appointments were right when I would need to get dd1 from school.
I then decided to call Wazza and thankfully they said I could come in for a scan.
I discovered that I have one beautifully healthy baby with a heart rate of around 140bpm and measuring larger than my dates, about 7 weeks. So perhaps I'm further ahead than what I thought? Wazza still gave me an edd of 14 April, whereas I had first calculated my edd of 13 April. That's the good news.
The scary part is that I have a small bleed. I haven't lost blood yet, nothing. But warren can see it on screen. So I am on bedrest for 10 days and a truckload of meds including nasty needles - clexane. But it's worth it. If it means baby stays safe. Crossing everything my pregnancy continues and the blood simply absorbs. I've been through this once before and the blood was bigger than what could be seen today. And thankfully my body held tight and so did dd2.
I am super lucky I have mil who has taking dd2 and my mum who has taken dd1.

Omg I can't believe you've already got to see the little heartbeat! This all seems so whirlwind for you!!
So awesome that Wazza scanned you!!
I was the same as you with my due date. I estimated my date as 31 March and at my scan they told me at was a day later too! So 1 April for me. You're not far behind me at all!!
My scan yesterday was perfect! Got to see the heartbeat too!!! I was 8w2d and the heart rate was 160bpm. The sonographer guesses that it's a girl because apparently they have faster heartbeats! We shall see.
My bleed has lessened heaps and looks like it's slowly absorbing. They kept referring to it as a perigestational bleed or something? It's not near bub though which is a relief.
I hope yours clears up soon too!! It definitely messes with your head a little bit doesn't it?

Hey SurferGal - yes it all does seem so whirlwind! A few weeks ago I was coming to terms that this might actually be happening and then I get to see a heartbeat and a bleed! It's scary but as you know, I've been through this before.
Great news you've had another scan and everything is looking good! This is your first baby right? Are you hoping for a girl? I have two of them and girls are lovely. Of course we'd love a boy this time around but 3 of a kind would also be cool

Yes, this will be my first! I would be more than happy with either. I'm actually getting a bit of a boy feeling so we'll see haha.
I'm from a family of girls, dh is a family of boys so I guess it could go either way!
I have my first appt with my gp this morning to try and figure out my maternity care. I really didn't know where to start but I'm guessing this is it?
