Our 8kg dog ate a decent amount of brownies (left on table and she climbed up while everyone was outside). It was estimated to be 100-150g dark chocolate. She was incredibly sick.
Our vet said its all about how much chocolate and if it's dark. You could always call your vet but I think the wonderful vets on here have given great advice.

Thanks for all the advice I really appreciate it. I am happy to report Louis (the pooch in question) seems fine and appears to have had no reaction to the chocolate whatsoever and DD has now been given a good lesson on the importance of making sure her eggs are up high
