    Default Ovulation induction with injectables

Hi ladies. Is anyone currently going through ovulation induction with injectables? I've done 6 rounds of clomid and only ovulated once so I'm thinking of going to a fertility clinic and starting a round of oi with injectables. Has anyone had success with this? Thanks

I have pcos and failed to ovulate with clomid. I did 3 rounds of OI with FSH injections and ovulated every time (once was an IUI cycle) but didn't get pregnant so we moved onto ivf. I had one cycle which was a freeze all due to OHSS then had a frozen transfer which was successful, now have a 9 month old DD.
Personally I think the use of clomid should be restricted to fertility clinics. There are soooo many other factors which might impact fertility that an ob (assuming that's who has prescribed clomid) may not know/test for therefore potentially rendering your time on clomid a waste. And if they're not cycle tracking and checking follicles then the risk of multiples is dangerous. So I would definitely get yourself off to a fertility clinic for a full work up of you and your partner and go from there. All the best!

    Hi gingermillie,
just wondering if you could given me any more information about your FSH cycle?
did you do them at home? how often did you have to go back to the specialist.
My specialist want to see me day 7-8 but not sure after that and I feel really uncertain what happens after that..

With FSH you do all of the injections at home which from memory started either day 2 or 5 of the cycle (can't remember sorry!) then after a few days start going in for blood tests and scans which might be every 1-3 days so they can monitor exactly how many follicles and when you need to trigger the ovulation and do times intercourse. It's more intensive but at least they know exactly what is going on and they need to check how you're responding and either increase dosage (mid cycle) or cancel if you've massively over-responded. This is all done by the nurses at my clinic (in consult with the dr) so it's all very quick but yes frequent trips in for checking! Hope this helps happy to answer any other questions you have.

I have pcos and had quite a number of cycles with clomid, successful ovulation and still no stick pregnancy.

Then we did a cycle of oi, fsh injections, trigger and progesterone after ovulation and now I have a gorgeous 2 year old ds

    Thanks @gingermillie and @munchkin
I think you have given me confidance that we should go ahead with an fsh stim cycle. Hopefully we only have to do it once. Can only wait and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
