    Palm cove is lovely.
I've heard good things about magnetic island but haven't been myself.

I know your DH has said no to Cairns and Green Is because of a day trip - BUT staying over is a completely different experience.

As you watch all the boats leave at 4.30pm you feel like you have the island to yourself until boats come back around 9.30 the next day. Watching the sunset or rise is incredible. We went for a swim as the sun was coming up one morning, the sand was pristine, ours were the first footsteps. Anyway it's a pretty magical place to stay 😄

Exmouth/coral bay. Dh and I flew up there (from Perth) and hired a 'wicked camper' for 2 weeks. Cost us under $1000 for the camper/caravan park fees and it meant we could drive when ever we wanted to where ever we wanted. Coral bay is only a couple of hours drive from Exmouth. Ningaloo reef is spectacular. We took our own snorkels/fins etc, there was a cooker in the van (plus bbqs at the caravan parks) and we pretty much only needed bare minimum clothes and bathers.

We even did a quad bike tour at coral bay.

We used frequent flyers for the plan tickets but they are relatively cheap anyway.

We probably only spent a couple of grand for the two weeks...food, camper, caravan fees, petrol etc.

No! Yay!! But because I'm a sook it means a shorter honeymoon- 3-5 nights absolute maximum! Probably more like 3. It's annoying but I miss them when I'm away from them.

These are great suggestions thanks everyone. Definitely have some googling to do tomorrow!
