Gosh we've never even thought how old we'll be when our kids move out, I think there's probably a good chance they won't all be out the door right on 18. We plan to start doing foster care though in our 40s when our kids are a bit older.

The finances of what they need when they get older def come into it. My fella is only 2 and I already feel we need to start saving up for braces, something towards a car for him and his higher education. Times that by 3 or 4 kids and that would def add up!

We still own property in Melbourne near the uni. I have definitely thought this through!

Not sure what happens when they tell me they don't want to move 😱

@HillDweller don't let R&A&H scare you (😜) my social life died in the water with DS2. I found people - even some who had kids (who were obviously easier going than DS2) - very intolerant of the last minute changes/adjustments that often come with some kids!

I kid you not DS1 once went up 4 shoe sizes in under 6 months 😱
Ds1 starts work experience next week. He just tried on his special work experience uniform that we brought in January. It too freaking tight. Far out... teens aren't cheap.

Only bloody crazy people want to move to frozen centre of the world. Yes dd1 I am talking about you. I know your reading this from your frozen place. Fighting with your cat over who is closer to the heater while I am melting in heat wishing for air con.
